This place wants to be a big brand name theater but forgot to put the money and effort into doing so. Two tickets for a matinee came to $24. Not a bad price. Concession prices were high but that is all movie theaters so that did not bother me. The cold popcorn, nasty nachos and odd tasting Diet Coke and lemonade are a different story. If you are going to charge premium prices, offer premium food and drink. When you walk in, you will notice a carpet that seems to have not been cleaned in a few years. Huge stains all over it make it look like the folks that run the place do not care enough to clean it other than a quick run over it with a vacuum. At one point before our movie, I noticed three employees just standing around. Normally, that is fine, I dont expect workers to run around their entire shift like madmen, however, there was popcorn all over the floor in the area near the concession stand. Impossible to not notice and would have taken just a few minutes to clean. Once you are in the actual theater room, you will find very dirty and many broken seats. Why would I want to pay money to sit in filth, eat bad snacks and drink weird tasting beverages? At least the movie we saw was worth it but I will not be going back to this theater again. Which is sad because it is the only option in Ellensburg. Locally owned business should care more about their customers seeing as how we are your neighbors. The place has potential though. A large lobby that, if cleaned up and utilize the space better, could be a great movie theater. Perhaps new management and ownership...
Read moreI am local to the area and have been here plenty of times. I went to see The Little Mermaid and was disappointed that the audio was kind of quiet and the picture was pretty dim. I also asked for an ice water at the concessions and the young lady let me know it would be the same charge as a pop. I had no problem with that. The very next night I go to see Guardians of the Galaxy which was pretty loud. I again asked for an ice water for my snacks and the new person told me they could not do that, all they had were water cups on the other side of the room by the water fountain. I was confused but did not question it as the older woman who I assumed was the owner was there assisting him (who was also there the night before as I got my food, etc.) I got my food and my water from the fountain and was on my way. I decided I at least wanted a cup of ice so I went back out to ask and the older lady (owner) acted like I was bothering her. She had me walk across the room by the fountain to get a cup for the ice when she could have just used one at the concession. I then set it on the counter, she asked me to hold it which was fine but the overall attitude and tone was bad. She wasn’t getting her way and made me feel stupid just for wanting ice. The candy is outdated, popcorn is DRY, and the picture and audio needs to be improved and CONSISTENT throughout the theater. Not sure if I'll be back since the experience/service is kind of a...
Read moreIts the only theatre in town, so there is nothing to compare it to. Staff dress nicely, the establishment is clean, and the seats are comfortable. They take cash only, so beware of that; there is an ATM in the lobby to assist in case you do not bring cash.
Overall average movie theatre, nothing special about it. It would be nice if they had later showings, such as 10-11pm start times. Being a college town, many people are up late at night and looking for things to do. Most of Ellensburg seems to shut down around 5pm, with limited entertainment options unless you're looking to go to a bar.
Concessions prices seem very high, but I have not been to another theatre in a couple years so I have no basis for comparison there.
The bathrooms are a bit far from the movie screens for anyone with limited mobility.
Staff are friendly, and there is ample parking space. Beware of the parking lot when it's icy outside.
With limited revenue due to Ellensburg being a small town, overall I'd say that what they offer...
