The Door — Restaurant in Ellijay

I've had great experiences here which is why it sucks to leave a 3 star rating but last weekend was absolutely horrible. We had Aspen as a waitress and her attitude was absolutely appalling since the moment we sat down. I've never been asked before "what do you want?" As a greeting. After the first drink I tried to ask for another drink 4 different times. She ignored me twice and after finally acknowledging me, she didn't even put the drink in. I had to go ask for it at the bar (which i hated doing because i know the bar is busy on its own). After that, her "checking in on us" was her rushing passed us saying "you good", not even giving us an opportunity to respond. The final time "she checked up on us" I asked for one final drink and the bill but before I got to finish my sentence she cut me off and walked away. she dropped my drink off so fast and walked away not even giving me enough time to say "can I get the bill" so I had to go ask for it at the bar because she ignored us for another 20 min. We were planning on coming with a party of 6 in a couple of weeks but now it's in question because we do not want Aspens attitude ruining any one of our friends night as they are driving a long way for this place. We are tempted to go back but that's only because Laura has been a great waitress...

Seriously the best kept secret in North Georgia. I would have never known this place existed if it wasn’t for the amazing doorman. My group stopped out front of this place on the street, a bit puzzled as to what it was. The incredible doorman (unsure of his name) instantly came out and greeted us. He explained a bit about the establishment and offered us a tour of the “back room speakeasy.” We were instantly mesmerized as we stepped back in time into an authentic speakeasy style bar. He did an amazing job explaining everything as he gave us a tour of this beautifully designed space. The owner just so happened to be in at the time of our visit. He was extremely welcoming and friendly. He made conversation with us and explained a bit about the bar and future visions he has for the place. This place is amazing! It’s a ‘secret’ speakeasy (you enter through a small retail space on the main road you say the magic words and you will be escorted through a door to the bar). Our bartender was Chad and he was great. We had a really good conversation and he made the most delicious cocktails. It was so good that I ordered an extra one to take upstairs to The Roof restaurant with me. He had told us his wife Faith worked upstairs so we requested her and she was equally lovely.
