I am not a very visual person so you can imagine my skepticism when I showed up at Colorado Budget Billiards and saw tables stacked on top of each other, some with no felt and others with pockets missing. All, I can say is, boy was I wrong. Let me start with Edmond Bartel, the store manager. He was extremely helpful, gave us a lay of the land to share with us what our different options were, told us which tables would fit within our budget, and explained some of the nuances of the tables to us, beginners in shopping for pool tables. After nearly an hour of looking around and trying to visualize the finished product, we settled on a World of Leisure table which, after doing a Google search appeared to be a very good table and which, had a frame that was solid wood and in great shape and despite not being fully assembled, appeared to be the one for us. After a bit of negotiating, we got the table into our price range and proceeded to arrange for delivery. Given that it was the holiday season, we expected it would take several weeks to receive the table but were pleasantly surprised when we were told that it would arrive in less than 2 weeks and in time for Christmas. The table arrived on time on a Saturday afternoon as two Colorado Budget Billiards vans arrived at our home at the stated time and the delivery and assembly team of Jimmy, Jordan and Bobby proceeded to bring the pieces of the table into my home, down the stairs and started to "do their thing". In addition to not being the most visual person, I am also not extremely handy so being that it was a Saturday, I watched the guys, led by Jimmy (the manager) start to assemble the table. It was actually a fascinating experience and process as I started to watch my new table come together. The removal of the old felt from the rails, the leveling of the table with the shims, the sealing of the 3 pieces of slate with the waxing and scraping, the installation of the new felt across the table - all quite incredible for a first time learner of how pool tables are assembled. After the process was complete, Jimmy gave me a complete lowdown on the care and maintenance of the table and after nearly 2 hours from start to finish, we had our beautiful new table ready for use (just for the record, I still think the felt is blue and not purple). What a great experience! Starting with my 1st phone call , finishing with an expert installation of a beautiful 25 yr old pool table. Edmond was my main contact at the store. He took all the time that I needed to choose the perfect 7’ pool table. He assured me that the table I chose would be finished with new, premium felt, new bumpers and all the accessories that I would need. Issac and his assistant came to my home to install my table in the basement. My wife was most concerned that the table could make it down the stairs without damage to the walls. She had nothing to worry about as the movement of the table was done with proffessional care. Finally when all the parts ( frame, rails, slate ) were in the basement the magic of assembly began. For well over an hour the table was assembled with precision and attention to detail that one rarely sees in today’s world. My 73 yrs have taught me to appreciate pride in workmanship and that is what I saw and felt. I observed the entire process. Issac was gracious in answering all my questions even tho he’s was busy at work . When all was done I was presented with a work of art, a beautiful Beach pool table, assembled with pride.
