I recently had the pleasure of dining at Famous Dave's and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment my friend and I stepped foot inside, we were greeted with warm smiles and the enticing aroma of delicious barbecue. However, what truly made our visit exceptional was the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Arely.

Arely's attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for her job shone through in every interaction we had. Her friendly demeanor immediately put us at ease, making us feel right at home. Not only did she offer excellent recommendations from the menu, but she also took the time to explain the different flavors and preparations of the dishes, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal.

Throughout the evening, Arely skillfully balanced attentiveness and respect for our privacy, ensuring that we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive. Firstly the service is more of a buffet, very passive and impersonal. Our server was Jose of which I'd never met, and another person named Michael. No real interaction. Other than telling us we took awhile to order (first time here...Soo...) And was eager for us to give our card. Not rude or anything, more of a drink was dropped off and the person didn't glance at my wife or myself, just walked off. Same with our entree, we had barely gotten the appetizer! Never think we saw the server and understand it was busy but we dealt with another Micheal and I hate the way I must distinguish this gentleman however he was perfect. From a consumer and business perspective, he hit all marks and I noted his mannerism did not change with other guests. (PTSD, I tend to watch people and do not like my back to anything but a wall, no need to explain more)

The younger gentleman of the same name (Michael) African American man, best service here. He even told us about the new things coming to the menu (beef ribs!!) Very personable, he deserves a raise and credit. It took ONE time politely asking for the boxes, a refill of our soda, and a bag. He came back quickly and with everything we needed fifteen minutes prior. I wish I'd had cash to tip him as well.

Anyway, the food! It is flat amazing. Not one thing we did not like. My wife and I came here and there are certain things she will NOT eat just as myself. These things here, they are delicious. There was just so much...and the desert was great! Environment was nice in a campy way, although I had to clean the table and recleaned it prior to leaving.

I will definitely be coming back! I still tip at least 20% but I'd suggest more service and energy like the gentleman that helped us. Took us five times to get a second drink and simple to go boxes, just felt forgotten until the check came, and we weren't even done eating or ordering desserts!

Best Service I’ve Ever Had at Famous Dave’s – All Thanks to Loretta S.! I’ve been coming to this Famous Dave’s BBQ location for years — seriously, I’ve probably been here hundreds of times. Usually, I sit at the bar, but the only downside has always been that there’s not a full-time bartender consistently stationed there. So even though I’m technically “sitting at the bar,” I’m often there solo, with limited interaction.

Today, I decided to switch things up and sit in the dining area… and wow, I’m so glad I did. That’s when I had the pleasure of meeting Loretta S., and let me tell you — she is an absolute gem.

Loretta was unbelievably warm, friendly, and attentive. She immediately made me feel at home with her energy. You know when someone just lights up a room without even trying? That’s her. She made my visit not just a meal, but an experience.

I was originally going to order one of the lunch specials, but during our casual conversation, I mentioned that I had work the next day. Loretta thoughtfully suggested going with a regular dinner entrée instead — just a few dollars more — because it would leave me with leftovers for tomorrow. Honestly, it was such a simple, kind, and smart suggestion. Sure, it could be considered an upsell, but it wasn’t pushy at all — it was practical, helpful, and exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And now I have delicious BBQ waiting for me at lunch tomorrow. Win-win.

She gave fantastic service throughout the meal, checked in just the right amount, and brought this calm, happy energy that made my day better. The food is consistently good here — that’s why I’ve kept coming back — but this was the first time I felt compelled to leave a review. That’s how great Loretta is.
