Mmmmm… it was delicious! This place is very unassuming, it’s one of those IYKYK places. It’s not a big place and there was only one woman to serve anyone. She was very nice but it did seem like she was rushing around, I felt a little bad for her.
On to the food- we ordered so much!! We got tuna, salmon and yellowtail nigiri , the yellowtail was the best. Ordered shrimp and veggie tempura, cucumber salad, edamame and a few rolls like the sunset, whose your daddy ( I can’t remember them all). We were shocked and amazed at how good each thing was!! Their tempura is amazing, the rolls were so delicious and it’s not that expensive.
And it wasn’t too crowded, just the 6 of us and another table of 2. Plus a couple to go orders. Apparently people usually get to go, which would make sense. Anyway I’m babbling- it’s really good!

Read moreEdit: unfortunately, I'll have to update my review. The food is still good, but it's super pricey now and the service takes abnormally long (~30 minutes waiting for sashimi. Realizing that I wasn't given wasabi and waiting for 10 minutes more to get wasabi).
Previous review: I've been here multiple times. The service is minimal which is what I like. No one bugs you every five minutes with "how are you doing so far?". The owner remembered me after the first time and even remembers what I order.
But the most important thing for me is the quality of sashimi. It was fresh every time. I'd prefer miso soup to be much less sophisticated than what they have, but that's fine.
The atmosphere is 3/5 because there is loud music blasting from TV. Even if I liked the music I think it's a bit too loud. So bring your own...
Read moreI love Japanese food, and I've been to numerous places but, I will say for my first time coming to Sushi & Joy I'm disappointed on the quality and taste of the food. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. The menu advertised grilled chicken and the chicken on my plate tasted boiled and soggy with no flavor. The salad wasn't the traditional salad just white ice berg lettuce and a few carrots and some type dressing (no flavor). The rice tasted normal considering it was plain steamed rice. I also ordered the tempura vegetables and again another disappointment with no flavor just blan and tasted like grease as an after taste even using the the sauce. Unfortunately I don't plan on returning there are way to many options with higher quality options for sushi like Blue Fin in Henderson and Twisted sushi on...
