I was in Henderson to take care of some business when I asked Siri, â Hey, Siri- whereâs a cute and delicious cafe near me???â Siriâs FIRST suggestion was Truffles N Bacon Cafe; Iâm so happy with her.. today, anyway! I went in and was greeted by a friendly person who then seated me. I asked her for some suggestions regarding anything spectacular I was not to miss. What was super popular with folks??? The nice server mentioned a few items, and then I heard it, the very thing I now knew Iâd actually come here for- a Mac n cheese burger with BACON JAM. Honestly my ears started ringing and I couldnât hear anything else after that lol. No wait.. I DID manage to hear her ask me if I wanted truffles on my French fries Iâd ordered. Um, YES!!!! I was super excited about the bacon jam because I hadnât had it in a long while. Several years ago when I was doing my culinary school internship, I worked in a brewery/ restaurant and we made and served bacon jam. It was absolutely delicious and I loved it! In fact, it was that very bacon jam that lead to my not being a vegetarian any longer lol. So I guess what Iâm trying to say is I already had a pretty good idea that I would love the bacon jam. My lunch arrived and it looked absolutely divine. This burger was really huge so I sort of deconstructed it and ate it with a knife and fork. When I tell you that my first bite of their bacon jam made me swoon, I am not exaggerating even a little bit. In fact, when my server came around to check on me, I told her it was a religious experience. ( the lovely owner that I ended up talking with as I left later, Magnolia, told me that their bacon jam was award winning!!!)I must also mention that the Mac and cheese on my burger was freaking fantastic. Somehow it had a gorgeous, browned, crunchy outside.??!!!! Then of course, it was all creamy and delicious on the inside. This is probably some of the best mac & cheese Iâve had, and I have eaten a lot through the years. Obviously the burger was a huge hit with me, but then, the fries⌠Let me tell you about the fries. I am quite often disappointed with french fries that I get in various restaurants. They are a bit of a splurge for me calorie-wise, so I want them to be delicious. Well, these truffled, french fries were absolutely perfect. They were crispy slightly salty, truffle -y, and amazing. Iâm really lucky that I ended up at this restaurant today, because it turns out they are closing for the next two weeks to do some remodeling. I live on the opposite side of town and I mean that literally- about 40 minutes away. I honestly canât wait until June 22 because I will definitely go back to try some breakfast; Iâm looking forward to seeing and tasting some crazy and delicious...
Read moreMy friends and I came here for lunch on a Thursday around 1230. It was busy but we were able to get seats. Our server, Raphael I believe his name was, was very courteous, polite, and quick to serve us waters and explain the menu if we had any questions. The atmosphere is great for groups as well as small parties.
I got the Rawlins sandwich and jeez that chicken was juicy and full of flavor. The salad that comes with it is also very fresh and tasty as well.
My friend and I split our meals and he had the pastrami burger. While it was a good burger, I felt like the flavor was just burger bread and a whole bunch of meat. Don't get me wrong, it was still really good, but it tasted better and we added in the salad to the burger for just a little more texture and flavor. That's just my opinion though. We also got an add on side of the lil' sinful tots. Raphael told us if you like it you're gonna wanna get a larger order or have us both add on our own but we just went with one order of the smaller size. We definitely should have listened to him. The sinful tots are amazing!! The bacon jam is absolutely delicious and we added that into the pastrami burger to give it another flavor and that really brought the burger together with the greens.
Our other friend got the TNB signature and the Mac and cheese was delicious with great texture. She also truffle fries that were also really tasty. I didn't get to try much else of her dish but it looked really good.
Overall, I'm rating this 4/5 because the restaurant has amazing atmosphere, the food is good, and Raphael was a really cool waiter. I couldn't give it 5/5 because it is a little pricey for me personally, but it is overall pretty average as brunch restaurants go. Also the pastrami burger looked better than it tasted, but the Rawlins was downright delicious. I would definitely come back again to try other dishes because there is a unique menu that all sound really tasty.
Just for reference, the sandwich plate with no sides and just the greens is the Rawlins. The dish with the tots is the pastrami and the dish with the Mac and cheese is the TNB.
edit: came here a few more times during when restaurants started opening up again. They are currently accepting reservations through yelp and in person. I've tried their pastrami sandwich and their ube french toast and they are absolutely delicious. There are days I just think of their french toast and want to come back and get some more. I'm going to update the review and rating to a 5/5 stars honestly because there isn't another restaurant in town that I've had that does what they do, in the quality that they do it. This is definitely a place to try, even if you're just...

Service & Food: Aside from being a Steelers fan it was amazing! We hadnât been there before so the kind gentleman made us feel right at home before enticingly describing these tempura like encrusted slices of elote, covered in a chimchurri-ish sauce, crema, cotija cheese and topped with micro cilantro that you eat like ribs. After we devoured this we ordered some herb lemonade that mirrored the taste of an agua fresca we loved in AZ. Next, we ordered our food- he got the buttermilk chicken and waffles and I got the chicken tinga omelette. Service was outstanding as we werenât continuously bothered/checked on and that worked for us.
Okay so the chicken that came with the waffles was to die for. It was perfectly crispy and flavorful on the outside yet tender, juicy, and flavorful on the inside too. The waffles were nice fluffy 3x3s. This dish came with honey and sriracha was for chicken, regular syrup for waffles but coupled with the bacon jam this dish was nothing short of exciting and delicious. He cleaned his plate.
The chicken tinga omelette was okay. The hashbrowns were crispy but had no flavor. Served with 2 white corn tortillas that are warmed, sour cream, guac that was so smoothed for a second I thought it was a lump of wasabi, and a small portion of a side salad. The tinga itself was cooked with what appeared to be an inauthentic sauce that tasted more like red enchilada sauce and it had no flavor. After adding some salt and pepper the plate was overall better.
