Ordered a medium burger and was given a beyond welldone burger. Every bite was a disappointment as all I could taste was this burnt nasty flavor that was definitely not worthy of a $17 burger. Waitress didn't come around much, and when I mentioned the issue, I wasn't even offered a new one, just a discounted price for a nasty burger. Waitress said it was normal for a charcoal grill, but I've had burgers made perfectly fine on a charcoal grill before. This was just completely burnt flavored and gross, which is not worthy of said price. So basically, I paid $17 for a beer and fries, still felt ripped off as I couldn't even finish half of this burger. Left no tip since I got overcharged for fries and a beer. I won't be coming back here again, which is a shame as I've heard nothing but good things. A medium burger has red in it, you'll have to order a rare if you want medium. The atmosphere was good, just an overall disappointing experience for the price with food, and I left hungry as the burger was inedible. Next time, maybe consider offering to remake the food instead of handing the check.

My first time here. We stopped on a whim on our way home from out of town based on the great google reviews. This place did not disappoint. The building was easy to find and in the historic area of Ephrata. We sat inside to eat but they had some outside seating as well. It was pet friendly outside. The inside was beautifully decorated, good beer and excellent food. We will make it a point to stop back! *Edited to add our second visit. We sat outside on the patio for this visit. We ordered 2 appetizers: garlic parm tater tots and smashed potatoes. Both were awesome! For meals, we ordered the smashburger (cheeseburger on texas toast), buffalo chicken mac & cheese, and shrimp tacos. I did not enjoy my burger very much. It was incredibly salty which I think was the toast and not the burger. I had to smother it in ketchup in order to eat it. My dad and boyfriend enjoyed their meals. We each had 1 beer. Really wish they would carry flights here as I wanted to try many of them. The bill for the three of us was about $130 (tip included).

This was my first time visiting. I got the fried pickles and Fried Chicken Sandwich. Neither of which I was impressed. The fried pickles tasted like the oil was bad or that they were burnt and it was mostly just fried batter. I forgot to take a picture of those. As for the chicken sandwich I would NOT recommend it. The sandwich was very dry and had the same type of batter on it. Again tasted like it was really old oil. I barely even ate it, maybe eating 1/4 of the sandwich and you couldn't tell that I ate any fries because of the same flavor. Not trying to be rude but I should have gone with the steak which my friend got and it was wonderful. I was also a bit disappointed that the waitress never commented on the fact that everyone else ate all their food and mine looked hardly touched. Not that I was expecting anything, but you would think they would ask if something was wrong because I wasn't eating it. I will return to try something else and hope for a better culinary experience.

This past weekend my girlfriend and I decided to go to Black Forest for dinner. We ordered two black cherry hard ciders along with our food. The waitress came back with two incorrect bourbon cocktails. I planned to tell the waitress about the wrong drinks when she came back, but she never did. After waiting, I decided to drink it even though it was not what I ordered since I would be paying for it. Another kitchen staff member brought us our food. I got the Black Forest Burger prepared medium rare. It was absolutely burnt to a crisp. I ate less than half of it and let it sit. Later, a third different staff member came and asked if I wanted a box. I politely told her about how the burger was burnt and I just wanted the check. She gave no apology and did not offer to take money off the bill. In the end, I payed $56 plus tip for two incorrect drinks and 1/2 inedible meals. It is really disappointing because I used to like this place. It is a cozy local place to go have a drink and meal. When Reese was there I would always be taken care of and had no problems. Recently, staff has been inattentive and the food quality has been poor. Customers should be checked on multiple times through out their meal to see if it they need anything and if their meal is satisfactory. Changes...

My first visit was impressive. I've known about the brewery for 5 years but never committed to a visit.

The food takes a little while to get to you (when busy) but the wait is 100% worth it. It is also pricey but you get very high quality. Worth it.

The burgers here are, IMO, THE BEST IN EPFRATA, by a mile. Seemed safe to order medium rare and they came out perfectly cooked with a slight pink center.

The burgers are big, seasoned well and flavorful with simple Ingredients. I split a rodeo and a brie burger with my buddy. Both are outstanding.

Great French fries and tots.

Loaded fries were so loaded we could not eat the whole serving=ton of meat on them.

Great steak on toast appetizer. The blue cheese and medium rare steak combo was stellar.

Kudos to the kitchen staff for the menu choice and food prep/execution. Your food will have me returning for sure!

Kids menu slider burgers are a hefty portion and my kid loved them.

Very friendly and attentive staff that has a great rapport with patrons.

Love the vibe of the place. Cozy log cabin. Even when the place is loud and busy (was when we were there) you still got a comfortable vibe.

Decent selection of beer styles and done well enough.

I'll definitely be returning for the food and am now eager to try...
