I wish I could leave a better review, but my last couple of visits have turned me off to returning. Months back, we put in an order and were told 30 minutes. We arrived after 30 minutes to pick it up and were told it wasn't ready and we ended up waiting almost another 30 minutes for it to be prepared.
That was fine, it happens.
Earlier this week the same thing happened. We were told 30 minutes, we arrived after 30 minutes and they were ready to take our payment, so we paid. And then we were told to wait another 30 minutes because they're busy and didn't have our food ready yet. So we decided to take a quick walk to a store nearby and come back. When we returned they said "someone stole your food". The cook then came out and asked us to wait while he prepared our food again. We then ended up sitting and waiting for close to 30 minutes again. When the food was ready, a third employee that we hadn't spoken to yet handed us our bags and said "Sorry, you know how people can be." and walked away. No real apology, it was more of an offhand comment. I'm disappointed we paid up front because we probably would have said forget it and went somewhere else. My son ended up needing to stay up late since we got back so much later than anticipated.
I understand you can't control someone stealing an order, but on top of the already inconvenient timing of everything there was no attempt to make...
Read moreThis was my first time going here. I live a few doors down from the restaurant. I called an order in for pickup and was greeted by a warm, friendly girl who took my order and answered a few questions for me. She said my order would be ready in about 10 minutes.
I walked over to pick up my order and sure enough, less than 10 minutes later my food was sitting on the counter waiting for me. I was impressed by the nice decor and they have done a great job remodeling and making the space much warmer and more inviting since they moved in. I had a nice chat with the girl up front at the register, as well as (what I assume was) one of the owners. They were both extremely friendly.
I ordered the pineapple fried rice with beef, medium heat, and the vegetable spring roll appetizer. The portion size for for fried rice was easily enough to feed two people (I'm a "big boy" and I still ended up saving half for another meal). I was very pleased with the quality and flavor of the food, and it had a small bit of enjoyable heat but nothing that should bother most people. I might try the next heat level up next time. The spring rolls were quite tasty as well.
I will definitely be back, especially living within walking distance. It's great to have such a nice variety of restaurants right here in Ephrata, in addition to the typical pizza...
Read moreUnfortunately, this is not a great eatery. I’m truly mystified at the high ratings. We ordered the pad thai, red curry, and coconut soup. These are all standard fare items that should be simple for any Thai restaurant to prepare. I will say that the coconut soup was pretty good, but the other two dishes were barely edible. We ordered them vegetarian with tofu. Only the pad thai contained tofu, and it was a very small amount of tiny pieces. It was sour and neither tasted nor looked like any pad thai we have previously had. The red thai consisted of chopped bell peppers, carrots, and cabbage swimming in red curry, with no tofu at all.
As an aside, when I placed the order, I was told the order would take 15-20 minutes. We showed up somewhat late, thinking our meal would have been waiting for us. Instead, we waited at least a half hour. It took well over an hour. If we had eaten in the restaurant, would they have kept us waiting over an hour for our food? It’s a good thing we didn’t eat in and bring our four kids with us. Needless to say, we will not be back. If you can find another source of Thai in the area, try that instead. Or skip it and save your Thai experience for a special occasion when you know you can find higher quality...
