Visiting the establishment on April 4th after wanting to check out the spot for a while since learning they have cat therapy and possibly adoption. After losing my childhood family pet and having struggling mentally while managing through grief, I decided since I was close to drop in to see what the fuss was about. Upon arrival I noticed they do not have any bike securing equipment so I proceed inside while leaving my bike on the sidewalk to ask if they have anywhere I could store/secure it while I visit as a paying customer. One of the ladies rolled her eyes, looked around and blurted out a strict "No" without even offering to make any slight adjustments to the lobby since it was empty being nobody else was there. Then chuckled and walked away from me. The girl that was in the back doing something else had asked her what I needed because she saw that I was disgruntled and was leaving the store with tears. I proceeded to tell the other lady that it was alright despite the lack of action from the first lady being hurtful. I appreciate the second associates efforts but because of the first lady lacking an inviting attitude, and poor customer satisfaction service, I will not be returning at all. Just because of this one experience was unforgettable, disrespectful, distasteful and I don't believe I should be spending any amount of my time or money with a business that hires and supports workers who choose not to help their customers no matter how small the matter. All I needed was to figure out a safe spot for my transportation being it being over $2k and being downtown. Not only am I losing out on the experience with giving love and care to the cats at the cafe but also losing out on the healing experience that they have to offer during this...
Read moreHad a pleasant visit at this cat cafe. There are plenty of street parking spots when I visited. The cat cafe is divided into a cafe where you order drinks/bakery and sit, and the cat lounge, which you can do a walk-in appointment or reserve a spot before hand on their website. (cat lounge opens at 11am) This space was beautiful in both area, with plenty of plant and cute spot to take a photo. The staff was very nice and polite. The drinks I got was matcha latte and the chocolate beignet, both were very delicious. They offer student discount for both food/drinks and cat lounge, with a present student ID
The space was very clean, and I was impressed by how much work they put in to make sure the cats are well-taken care of as well as keeping the area sanitized and clean. You can adopt the cat directly from the cat cafe since they work closely with the local animal shelter.
They offer variety of activities such as Yoga or Painting here. Event schedule can be found on their social media (Facebook, instagram)
Had such a great time playing with the cats in the cat lounge and will...
Read morePurrista is such a welcoming, wonderful place. Going out into the community is extremely hard for me as autistic individual, but Purrista felt like home. Everyone is so kind, friendly, and helpful. I usually need a companion to interact with staff, but I talked to several employees during both of my visits without any issues! I was also so jazzed to find most of their menu is gluten free. I was expecting just to be able to grab a coffee but was also able to get a delicious gluten free brownie. On top of all of that, we adopted one of the cats we met on our first visit, Caden. When we came to pick him up, my 6 year old son came along and was also welcomed with open arms. One employee helped him operate the little crane game machine and was super sweet to him. I cannot say enough good about Purrista. If you're looking for a great little, inclusive cafe and some kitty snuggles, you've found the...
