Shoreline Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Erie

My wife and I visited this place during our trip to Erie. My wife loves seafood and the view here looked great so we headed here after touring Erie. The hostess was missing so 3-4 of us queued up. When she finally came we asked for a table outdoors and she said it's a 35 minute wait and we said okay and sat at the bar. We ordered drinks and waited. An hour and no update. We ordered crab appetizers as we were famished. We went and checked and she said no opening yet but we were next. We then tried asking indoor options as the sun almost set and it was pointless anymore. By then she filled all indoor low tables and only high tables remained. My wife has vertiho and she had managed so far at the bar but we could not continue through through dinner. With no end in sight, finally decided to place take away at the bar as we needed to drive back to Beaver. The hostess then came saying table is available outside. I asked if our order could be served at the table. She said no. At this point I was tired of dealing with her. We waited at the bar while my wife ordered another drink and we took the food and left.

I would have given this place a one star if not for the bar staff. I should have written this review couple of weeks ago when I remembered their names but they were brilliant. They kept talking, trying to pacify us for the wait, making small talk, following up with the kitchen on the food and more. Big shout out for the right staff at the bar. Hostess was terrible at communication, taking care of the customer or being flexible. Saw other people going through the same. If you know tables outside take long, offer inside tables. We aren't familiar with the place but you are. Have some empathy for the customers. We ourselves said we will wait at the bar. Hostess did not even care. Saw many go through what we did except they did not wait as long as we did. All in all, ended up reaching home at 11 pm and then having cold food so can't comment much on quality. Did not care...

We had a very very bad time here. There were 6 of us at our table. Three of us are in the service industry so we understand things happen but this was just absolutely terrible. For starters. Two of us asked for extra cherries with our drinks. We received no cherries but the waitress did bring strawberries to one of us. We clarified and she brought cherries. 4 of our guest meals came out before my appetizer which was the margherita flat bread. It came out about 20 minutes after everyone's meals. My friend didn't get his soup until he was done with his main meal, and our other guest never got his corn dip appetizer until he was done with his steak. His steak was cooked on the outside but hardly done on the inside, the inside was cold. The burger was also burnt the entire way through. Myself and my friend did have great grilled cheeses though, and the fries were great. Back to the Flatbread I got, it was ice cold. The cheese wasn't even melted onto the bread. We returned it and they took it off the bill. The waitress came back about an hour after everyone finished eating and asked if we wanted dessert. I told her my boyfriend and I never even got our food. She returned 20 minutes later with our food. Surprisingly as I said my grilled cheese was great. My boyfriend said his walleye was good but the brussel sprouts were cold and flavorless. The only thing I enjoyed about this restraunt were the Old Fashion's and the sunset! We spoke with a manager and she only took 20% off our check even thought we waited 90 MINUTES for our food. An actual 90 minutes (not like when people say that and it's been 25).
