Flagship Niagara League — Attraction in Erie

These people care! I recently contacted the Flagship office to cancel my reservation because of a problem in my itinerary. Julie exceeded my expectations with her customer service. She started by letting me know they have a waitlist for the sailings and there would be no problem refunding me my money. However, before just doing that, she spent at least half an hour trying to help me find a reasonable rental car rate which would allow me to actually make the sailing. She didn't want me to miss out on the opportunity to sail with them, even though it would have been MUCH quicker for her to simply apply my refund and contact the first person on the waitlist for that date. I absolutely loved this excursion! We had such a fabulous time out on the water. This was for my birthday surprise and it surely was rich. Working the ropes & sails was alright but I loved getting to sit back and listen to the waves slosh against the hull as we cut across other boaters' wake. We went for the sunset sail in July and we found it helpful to have a light sweater as the sun sets because you stay out on the water until the sun is gone, THEN the crew make port for you to disembark (20 minutes later). The 80° day quickly turned chilly out on the waves.

If you're looking for true sailing, I'd opt for the open lake option. Otherwise you just stay in the harbor/ bay front area - which is nice but it's not like "full speed ahead, wind in your hair" kind of sailing.

Bring a snack/ drink & pee before you go...

Truly one of the most amazing experiences that I have had since moving to Erie Pennsylvania! This was a few years back, my mother had to come to visit me for my birthday and she wanted to go on an sailing excursion unfortunately that day we weren't able to sail out, my mom rebooked the tickets for an later date in august. It was one of the most beautiful sunset cruises I have ever been on, the weather was perfect, we sailed to the outskirts of the amphitheater and listened to the music from Erie's Eight Great Tuesdays, and (as an added bonus) the director of the league was sailing the monument that night and let me take to the helm of the beautiful vessel and steer the ship.
