We came in today for a late lunch and this was our first time visiting. We had looked forward to coming here because we had heard good things. Let me start with the Positive first. The food quality was very good and both my wife and I thought the food quality was above par and would go there again because of that. We also thought that the bar area which is considerably large was well kept and neat and the restaurant appeared to be tidy in all ways that could be noticed visually by the customer. The service we received unfortunately was not the best which is why I rated it a two. The hostess was very polite and allowed us to be seated where we liked which was nice because they were not busy. We were met by our waitress fairly quickly to ask what we would like to drink. We were not greeted by our waitress or made to feel welcome which I understand people can have a bad day, and maybe she was just having a bad day. However, this was our very first impression and it continued throughout our time eating there. After we were given our drinks and our menus we were not again asked what we would like to eat for around 14 minutes after that point. The food came out in a normal time frame after that, but we were never once asked if we enjoyed our food or had any casual conversation from our waitress to make us feel as though we were even wanted there. We even had to ask to get our drinks refilled, one of our drinks was out and the other was almost out. Our waitress was the sour point of our experience for lunch but we will give it another go because the food quality was good. During our time there the other staff were standing around the bar area, meaning three different girls all on their phones chatting with one another. I understand that young people do this a lot and that this seems to be the world we live in but if there were that many extra people available to work maybe they could give the young lady that seemed not to have the time for us the opportunity to have better service. But that's just me thinking out loud:-) all in all will try it again but if you are reading this I figured I would put this out so that if you have the exact same experience that we did maybe something will change. This is a very nice restaurant and has all the makings...
Β Β Β Read moreWhere do I begin? I ordered food to go. Part of the order was SEAFOOD. When I picked it up, I simply asked for 2 souffle' cups of clarified/melted butter for the seafood. I kid you not, THREE times they said they cannot do that: they don't have any. (ROFL) I asked how they could serve ANY food without the ability to melt butter for a customer and I was told they couldn't do it because they didn't have a microwave. ( totally serious ). I almost didn't know how to respond to that other than shock at the stupidity. I asked them to ask the kitchen to take a saucepan and MELT me some butter and was told they could not do that. I swear I wish I would have filmed it. Totally serious. Then when we opened it up at home, ALL the food was VERY small portions. Now, I had eaten there before only 2 years ago and ordered a lobster roll. It was huge and slathered with yummy butter. So I ordered another one this time and my Daughter wanted one too. I told her they were great and plenty to fill her up. NOT ANYMORE. We got a teeny tiny crap roll with a couple TBSP of creamed lobster. For the price it was insulting. If you want a great lobster roll, go the whole darn thing Sub shop in Meadville PA, because a sub place makes it WAY better! Tip: they have BUTTER, as literally every other restaurant does except this one. The burgers were small for 25 bucks. Good, but nothing spectacular for the cost. I went downstairs to their sister restaurant to ask for melted butter and was told THEY could not do it either. It is an oyster bar, ROFL. Gosh I can't even make this up. NONE of us will ever go there again nor will we recommend it to anyone. In short, if you aren't very hungry and like small portions and don't want melted butter for your seafood for 4 star price, then this is your place. Note: ordered a Mediterranean Chicken wrap and it...
Β Β Β Read moreGrand opening just two weeks ago, and it's evident as servers, wait staff, busboys and management are still working out critical kinks in the flow of traffic.
We had a two hour wait, where we were invited to enjoy the east side Rooftop for drinks. I hadn't eaten much today so one drink had me feeling tipsy and hoped to order an appetizer while we waited. Our amazing waitress, Erica informed they couldn't allow that. I wish I'd known before I drank the lovely Pier Bliss drink I had.
When seated, we waited nearly 20 minutes while I watched one server struggle to keep up with all the different tables assigned. It seemed a lot of uniformed employees don't know exactly what their roles should be. It will take a few more weeks for them to work out the flow of traffic. This place is very popular!
Calamari was the best I'd ever had! The Mac & Cheese was lacking a ton of flavor, but grateful for the brisket I ordered on top! When our server, Shawn heard about the less than flavorful Mac, I got a visit from the manager and he took care of it for me. I'm grateful for the service here!
I had to start a new paragraph to indicate just how incredible the raspberry cheesecake is! Not too sweet, not bitter at all, and beautifully presented! πππππ
The views of Lake Erie are beautiful, with an unobstructed view from the deck outside on the roof! First time I've visited a Great Lake, and it did not disappoint. I'm glad we chose to come here...
