Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Escondido

Last night took the family to dinner at Applebee's in Escondido. We have eaten there numerous times. This time before we went we went on Groupon to see if we could save a little bit of cash this time. We walked in was seated, and greeted by our server. Before we ordered We asked the server if we would be able to use the groupons we had purchased.We showed the groupon to our server, and was told that even if we could not use both on one bill she would split the bill and apply one to each, allowing us to use both the groupons. We ordered , was served, the service was normal, not great, not terrible our server Miriam R. was average at best. So after the meal, our server brings us the bill not split and I asked where going to be be able to apply both groupons to the single bill. She was unsure and went back to ask manager. She came back with the bill split and I handed her my phone. She takes it and goes to apply the groupons. When she comes back, she tells me that they are not going to honor the groupon... I was puzzled, you already said you would take it no problem. She then tries to explain why she wont take it, all her excuses really made no sense, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over, I explained the situation, she tells me she doesn't care about the groupon, they are not going to honor it even though the server has already said yes and I was very clear before we ordered on what they where and she was even shown them. the manager customer service was HORRIBLE !! It was like talking to an angry teenager who is trying to be nice.....We paid our bill and I asked for the Owner's information to voice my complaint, she tells me they are run by a corporation. I asked for that info she took FOREVER to get this information to us. Finally she came back and we left the building. Not sure if we will go back after the way where treated... To many other choices to...

Mom and I closed escrow on our home on Valentine’s Day last year, celebrating at our local Applebees restaurant. We enjoyed Passion Fruit Mai Tais for the first time and fell in love with them. We returned this year to celebrate the one year anniversary of closing escrow. And yes, at our local Applebees.

It was Valentine’s Day, so we knew it’d get busy. I had to work so we got there around 4:00 and only had to wait about 8 minutes before being seated. Our waitress, Baylee was great. Her coworker was running late, so poor Baylee was running around with her head cut off taking care of multiple tables with various requests. When she got to us I let her know we can see how crazy it was and how she was able to focus on customer service so well. She was thankful that we understood. I’ll be honest, I could not handle what she did last night, so huge quad kudos to Baylee!

The food was scrumptious. Applebees mashed potatoes are hands down the best in town. And that was the side dish! The steak was sizzling hot when it arrived hit off the skillet, still sizzling in its juices with grilled onions and mushrooms on the side, with their garlic butter. Oh my gravy they are not kidding when they say there’s something good in the neighborhood!

Because it was my birthday month, I received a brownie with a coop of vanilla ice cream for free. Join the club and you can have all this great experience too!

A word to management: I certainly hope you can see what you have in Baylee being on your winning team. She’s an asset to your team and we will continue to come back for...

Okay the chicken salad I ordered for a friend of mine was pretty decent I also ordered chicken with alfredo sauce and of course with pasta also I got a side order of boneless chicken wings now I have to be a bit critical because the wings they were extremely salty so unfortunately I could not eat them and the Alfredo with pasta and chicken all the pasta was stuck together like one piece I don't know what happened and it was not hot it was barely lukewarm so I cannot even elaborate what happened there the server when I walked up to him he was Dynamite great service and he even brought everything out after I ordered it in person so if Applebee gets this message I hope they do something about the extreme salt that they put on that chicken wings and hopefully they just pay attention to the pasta at least be warm and loose not stuck so the only good thing came out of this is the chicken salad my friend enjoyed it and I guess that's all good so my caution to all of you is if you read this post and go to Applebee's make sure to request easy on the salt and hopefully they don't make the same mistake they did with me on everything else that's why I can only give them three star maybe the kitchen had a bad day I hope not too many...
