I came by for st Patrick's Day. I'm from Ireland and was happy to be around for the holiday, and everyone in town insisted this was the place to be. I was not impressed though. The place was packed, but if I'm being honest I didn't see why. I'm sure every other day of the year it's a great place to be, but for this specific holiday when it should be bringing it's best, it fell flat. The music and artist was a bit of a strange choice and from what I heard it's a regular show, would have been nice to have something more Irish. The food was a disappointment. I was told by locals to come back another day to try it because it's usually better, but it should be at it's top this day of all days. The sheps pie was awful, extremely salty, mostly gravy, some ground beef and I'm pretty sure frozen peas and carrots, and one tiny spoonful of instant potatoes splat right in the center. I've never. Also paid near 25$ for a plate of corned beef and cabbage and it was another miss, unseasoned tiny bit of corned beef, and a side of cabbage and potatoes and carrots all unflavored unseasoned. Side of butter helped but even with the salt and pepper at the table it just felt stale and bland. We ended up leaving early and finding a great show elsewhere that felt more comfortable and much more holiday centered. I honestly felt like this place was better suited for any other day, but for the holiday I felt like it wasn't worth it. I look forward to returning again and trying it when it's not a holiday though and giving everything a second chance, the staff was friendly and hard working and from what I could tell, the place seemed pleasant to sit and grab a...
Read moreThis place has gone down hill bad. We used to go here each year for our wedding anniversary. But this year was a disappointment. We spent $84 for food that tasted really bad. I ordered the beef stew that says on the menu has chunks of beef. But no chunks just a plate of what looks like not so appetizing pile of smoosh food. I was even looking for potatoes and carrots but unfortunately there was at least 3 to 4 pieces and mind you this plate is $22. My husband ordered the boiled eggs wrapped in sausage but as you can see in the picture it just seems like one piece of boiled eggs cut in 6 slices and deep fried with a tasteless batter. It was a Thursday and initially we asked for the September 4th a Thursday special which states on the website is only $9 for wings, quesadillas. We asked the rude bartender and she said it was only for happy hours then why would it says on your website that it’s a special for a specific day and date? Bottom line she didn’t follow What it shows on the website. She was really rude and my husbands beer glass was empty for 15 minutes 2X. She seems like very unhappy with what she was doing. She barely smiles and didn’t even try to explain anything we asked. I asked her to recommend a sweeter taste Ale and her recommendations are just wrong. She was so short that she can barely see passed the bar table. Her hair was just clamp up all crazy. It’s very unpleasant looking as a bartender. Her voice was so annoying that I told my husband let’s just celebrate our anniversary at home. That food, place and bartender just...
Read moreA great authentic menu and excellent alcohol options in a nice Irish pub ambiance, including live music even on weekdays. I had the Reuben sandwich and it was very delicious. But there wasn't much meat on it and the fries, which dwarf the sandwich, look golden and crispy but were mostly too soft. I'd ask for them to be lightly well done if I get anything with fries there again.
Overall, the value is just not there. For $21.00 they could easily add a little more meat to the sandwich--like in the attached photo of a DZ Akins Reuben sandwich at about the same price. The O'Sullivan's meat is the pulled rather than sliced type, but the sliced I had is just as tasty and a bit more tender and juicy. A pint of Guiness, included in the bill with a customary 18% tip (just for pouring a pint), costs $12.40. So for a sandwich and two beers it was $50.00...
