Hacienda Motel — Hotel in Escondido

Upon reserving a room I made a note requesting a room on the ground level. I explained I have a leg injury & am on crutches. I would be staying alone so I had no way to get my stuff to an upper level room.

When checking in I asked if I was being put in a ground level room as requested. The gentleman working said no all the rooms had been booked already. While explaining why I needed a room on the ground level my emotions got the best of me. I was tired from working all day, in a lot of pain and I would not get a refund if I cancelled the room.

Allll the sudden a room magically came available on the ground level! Wow! What a miracle! (Rolling my eyes). I thanked him (honestly grateful) and preceeded to the room.

The room had carpet that is supposed to be dark blue but was black in a path to the restroom and on each side of the bed. The bathroom door had visible dirt & brownish smudges all over it & paint missing from use.

There was barley any toilet paper on the roll and no extra roll available. There was no phone in the room to call the front office; so instead of being able to get off my injured leg I had to go all the way to the office to ask for a roll.

The bed was more of a box spring than a mattress. I could literally feel the springs and it squeeked when I moved. It was horrible to say the least.

The sheets, blankets and pillow cases appeared to be clean. However, the once white towels and wash cloths were stained & grey.

All of the electric outlets were being used so I was not able to use my heat pad on my leg.

The air unit has two speeds, high & very high. Where it is positioned it blow directly in my face. So my option was to feel like I was in a wind tunnel all night or sweat with it turned off.

This was not a good experience and I would not...

Thank you to the owners/staff for a peaceful stay. I had zero issues. Clean, friendly, and good security officer on duty. After reading some of these other reviews, I have to submit a detailed review of my experience to clear things up.

First, there are mentions of staff that is rude. There is an employee at this hotel who represents the security role. He doesn't mess around but, he is a super nice guy. Assertiveness can sometimes be taken as being rudeness but, in my opinion, without someone with a watchful eye, there is no peace. You will sleep better knowing he's on patrol.

I've read complaints about the deposit for incidentals. The amount they ask for is far less than 99% of other hotels and the damage a bad renter can cause is well over $50. Really the risk is theirs so, don't complain. If you respect the property, the "cash only" deposit rule benefits you because, you have your money back at checkout instead of waiting four or five days to see it in your account.

NO bugs... unless you want to complain about a fly clean rooms and property TV gets many movie channels AC gets very cold ample space for storage small table and chairs spacious rooms doors are secure there is hot water fixtures we're not worn or damaged bed was medium-soft sheets were fresh and clean enough clean towels carpet was clean ask for wifi quiet ambiance no suspicious loiterers staff is pleasant and professional deposit returned, no complication fridge was clean and functioned microwave was clean and functioned even the fly left politely

I look forward to staying at this hotel in the future and I recommend it for anyone looking for a safe good night's...

Horrible place!!! Stinks terrible Racist old man! I had reserved a nice room at the Motel 6 in the area for 4 days. I had literally just the reservation. My husband and I saw this place as we were driving by decided to just seecwerkly rates. The man didn't listen at all to what we were asking just kept interrupting. We had a reservation but it was for the next day at another place we asked about 1 night And a weekly rate for the upcoming week. He asked if we wanted to see a room. We did. It was smelly but the price was right and we had a gap in our hotel coverage. He said 30 deposit for the 1 night cash only and nightly was 70.We said great. We asked if he had atm he said no go next door. We did I pulled out cash for deposit and cancelled my 4 day upcoming reservation for motel 6 thinking this was a better deal. I comeback and walk in 2 seconds after leaving and he says I quote , Aggressive Why are You here? I say excuse me you said we needed cash deposit we got it and I am here to rent the room. He said something about mOtel 6 I said I cancelled with them. He says You Are A Liar. I said excuse me. He starts saying get out get out. My husband is black and I am white. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. I work in Tv and radio. I am a published author my husband is director and producer. I video taped him leaving me standing there. I said you must be racist he went in door. Boycott this racist pos. Less than 1 star. We don't treat people this way in America. He is not from America btw. Don't spend 1 dollar...
