I booked this room on Air BnB, just took a chance. The initial start to this nightmare all started when I get to the motel and the manager/owner is slapping me with a surprise $100 deposit on top of what was supposed to be included in the price. He told me that if I paid it in cash he would be able to give it right back to me the next day…… so I did. He dives me my room key and then I’m so dead tired that all I wanna do is lay down and sleep (after a 14hr flight). I checked in approximately at 3pm and I’m asleep from 3:30pm to about 6pm. For less than 3hrs when I suddenly got woken up because my whole body felt like there was something crawling all over me. And bites on my hands because that was really the only thing exposed. I immediately take off the rest of my clothes and jump in the shower. After realizing that I either got bit by mosquitoes or bed bugs. I quickly went back to the bed to inspect. And sure enough, bed bug infestation! I then take videos and pictures and go downstairs to tell the manager. And his reaction (like all Indian/punjabs) was to just to get mad:angry and blame me for the bed bugs. I said , really? That’s your reaction…. I’m just looking to get moved to another room if possible. Not looking for a refund. He said NO. I don’t have anything available, so talk to air bnb and I I’m keeping your deposit because now I gotta clean the bed bugs. I said “WHAT!?! I didn’t bring them here. That’s not fair. Someone doesn’t bring bed bugs and infest the mattress this quickly in less than 3hours! That’s insane! He said oh well. And just left me In the room. I was so livid. I wanted to seriously hurt this man. I’m now on the phone with Air BnB and they are very sorry and they said don’t worry we’ll take care of you and just send us pictures and videos of what you see or saw. So I did. I told them that he was keeping my $100 cash deposit and if there was anything that they could do to help with that. They said he was violating Air BnB terms by even asking me for that deposit to begin with. After getting another place elsewhere, I went back down with my things and I tried to speak to AJAY ( the rude manager) and I said, Hey so are you really keeping my $100 ? And he said yup that’s right. I said. Ok because Air bnb said that you weren’t even supposed to have charged me anything and if you feel that’s right and you can have that on your conscience without any guilt than I guess I can’t do anything about it. He said yeah I’m fine with that. So then I proceeded to just walk away and he has the nerve to say. May I please have the key ? I said ….. no, And I flipped him off. He’s the lowest kind of lows type of person. He’s gonna have to answer to someone about this. I’m a huge believer in karma and I believe that he will get his...

My husband and I are planning on spending tomorrow in San Diego, and we were unable to find a descent priced hotel in San Diego, so we found this hotel for about $112 for the night. It was cheap and available so we booked it. Driving up to the hotel, it looked pretty run down. It's in a very sketchy area, and was on a very busy corner. We arrived at the hotel around check in at 3pm today and my husband checked us in while I waited with his service dog in the car. The reception area was a small room with plexiglass in front of it. Also inside of the room was a toddler just hanging out. After he was checked in we got our stuff and proceeded to our room. We had to walk in front of the reception area and as we passed the woman motioned for me to come over to her. When I got there she asked if it was a service dog and said I needed to present a ID for the dog or I could not stay there. I told her that by law I do not have to present anything to her to prove that our dog was a service dog. I also told her to google it and even presented to her a card with the laws. She threw it back and said she did not want to see it. She said she didn't care about the law and that she needed an ID. She also proceeded to tell me my husband didn't look disabled and continued saying I needed proof. I reminded her that it is illegal for a business to discriminate against disabled people. She still didn't care, and said we couldn't stay with the service dog. My husband called the police and they came and also tried to educate the woman about the laws, but she didn't still didn't care. My husband and are presenting this to the American Disability Act and will see where this takes us. This woman was rude, uneducated and completely ignorant. Luckily I was able to call travelocity and get a complete refund. When the cops showed up, they told us they were sorry for what happened, but that it was probably for the best, because it's a...
Read moreAfter reading some of the older reviews I was pretty skeptical about booking a room here. I am glad I did book my room, 3 nights! The rooms are not the biggest, yet spacious. The bathroom and shower/tub are huge!
The room was very clean, I was on the 2nd floor closest to the fairly busy Washington Ave and I didn't even notice traffic sounds.
The staff were all very nice and accommodating. Not knowing Escondido, I was slightly worried about the location of the hotel and leaving my motorcycle in the parking lot. The manager let me park right in front of the office in the unused portion of the check in parking area, which has cameras. I never had one issue with staff, other guests, or any body messing with my motorcycle or any other vehicles.
They appear to have recently gone through a remodel and face lift. My room had a beautiful 'painting' on the wall above the bed and the ceiling was painted as a continuance of the wall art. I did not get a photo of the wall art but I did get a photo of the ceiling with and without the lights on. The ceiling is painted with the cycles of the moon and stars that only show up under black light (which was hidden behind the television) very nice touch. I enjoyed my stay and would book again next time I am in the area.
I gave only 4 stars for location because when headed east on Washington you must flip a u-turn to only enter the parking lot when west bound and there are no legal u-turns for a couple blocks. This is a city issue and not the fault of the hotel, but nonetheless a pain in the backside to navigate when in an unknown city. Just a heads up when using Google...
