I got my order to go, and when the chef misses the guacamole you paid for you cant go up and ask for it, but it happens so no big deal, on to my review of the burrito:
I got the braised beef burrito, for me it was just not the burrito I was hoping for. It was the most appetizing thing on the menu for this "omnivore", but failed to satisfy my taste and need for beef. The beef itself was okay I wish it had a little flavor, I think the "grilled veggies" portion off the burrito needs refinement, there was so much broccoli it overtook the flavor of anything else in the burrito (I dont think there should be room for broccoli in a burrito). I felt like I could have gone to panda express, ordered a single entre of broccoli beef with white rice, wrapped it in a tortilla and it would have tasted identical. The burrito was so sloppy and messy I was unable to finish the bottom 1/2 of it. This was my second trip to laughing planet the first was a similar experience with their chicken but at least the chef remembered guacamole that time. I dont think I will be returning to laughing planet.
I was so upset by this experience I came online to do a long review, I never do reviews, hope that gives an idea of how unsatisfied by the food I was.
Sidenote: If you are a vegetarian or vegan this is totally the place for you, I get that I am not the Laughing Planet specific...
Read moreI only went there because a friend gave me a gift card. When I walked in the whole place smelled like tempe. Was very unpleasant. But I guess some people like that sort of smell. I didn’t see a menu when I was standing in line. Got to the front of the line only to find that the sit in menus are up front and you are expected to grab one before you get in line. So, I grabbed one a proceeded to the back of the line, again. Got a chicken rice and bean burrito. It was take-out and the girl just brought the burrito to me, wrapped up in foil. I had to ask for a bag. The burrito was super bland. Just flavor-less. The chicken was dry and had no seasoning. If it did, you definitely couldn’t taste it. Even the salsa just tasted like mashed up tomatoes. I also got a cookie. A vegan one because that was all they had. It was so dry and hard. The chocolate in it was way too sweet and the dough part was just dry and full of sugar. It’s like they put more sugar in it to make up for the fact that it was as dry as stale bread. I guess that’s what you gotta do to make vegan cookies. Idk I wouldn’t eat there again except I still have more money on my gift card. Maybe the next thing will be better. At least now I know I need to grab a menu right when I walk in. Really need to put up some...
Read moreNot only is Laughing Planet an awesome place to eat, their mindful approach to sourcing local ingredients and making nutritious food enhances the positive experience at their café. Affordable and delicious, this food makes us feel good. We order dishes that are Made Without Gluten, and the menu clearly indicates dishes that are Vegan, Made W/O Gluten, Paleo Friendly, and Contains Nuts. The service is quick, the staff is helpful, and the café has a fun and quirky vibe. We especially like that they use actual plates, bowls, cups and flatware, instead of disposable ones. Eating and hanging out at the café is something we look forward to, but we have used their online ordering when we are in a hurry. Free water is available, but we really love getting one of their delightful drinks, usually a Fresh Brewed Iced Tea or Agua Fresca. The Veggie Bowl with Garlic Tahini dressing is scrumptious, as are the DIY Tacos, but really everything we have tried on the menu has been sublime. We never skip getting one of the Gluten Free homemade cookies for the road! Laughing Planet has an awesome website, with lots of information and a place to order online.
