Dizzy Dean's Donuts — Restaurant in Eugene

it’s been years since i’ve had donuts from this place. exact date i last had donuts from here was september 1st. 2021 (don’t ask me how i know that lol). i remember the donuts where good, but from looking at a photo on google maps recently, it looked like the donuts where moldy and gross. i’ve also been reading the bad reviews about the owner dumping cold water on a homeless person when it’s cold af outside. like why would you do that and why record yourself doing that?? if you didn’t want her on your property, ask her to leave (nicely of course), and maybe be sympathetic if she says no because there might not be anywhere else for her to go to for the night.

Edit 01/25/2025: With all the better reviews, it has me wondering, “are these people being paid to put up good reviews so the shop gets better reviews?” 🤔 Just food for thought.

Edit 03/14/2025: another question, how in the living hell is this place still in business and why do people support the owner being a jerk to people who don’t have a lot?

Absolutely horrible shop. A while ago I left a review explaining that the food I ordered here tasted very stale and weird, but the owners shut down the entire restaurant review section and remade it. So, I just wanted to say this to anyone looking at this hell of a donut shop: The owner assaulted a homeless woman, the donuts somehow taste more stale than three day old sushi, and the employees are extremely rude. When I unfortunately came to this place, the employees made vulgar comments about me and made gross comments about the food I ordered, saying they would spit in it or contaminate it on purpose.

Edit: Wanted to add that I’m not trying to be a jerk here, but having the audacity to reset your reviews and assault someone? I’m not going to be nice. I seriously tried to support this restaurant a while ago, since people may tend to leave fake bad reviews in retaliation or anger towards someone, but the reviews are nothing but correct. I can’t believe this place is still open. Dousing water on an unhoused woman (with no other clothes to change into) out in the cold, recording it, sharing it AND laughing… is not the type of behavior we should be supporting from a local business owner. Thank you to locals with social media and other Google Reviewers who let the rest of the community know what was happening in town. I went out to grab donuts this morning and decided to skip this place entirely (even though it was on the way). And I hope you do too.

This is not how we treat other PEACEFUL human beings just trying to survive out there. There was an accusation of a fire - there was no fire, the owner was just being cruel to a woman out in the cold.

The donuts are stale there anyway. There are plenty of other small businesses (with actual fresh donuts) to support - avoid this one. I don’t support cruelty in this...
