Brunch today with my Adult Kiddos! They both ordered the Rancher Breakfast and they added an O'Brien upgrade to their Homefries. I ordered a Hot Meatloaf Sandwich with Fries, because although I wanted Tater Tots, they were totally out of Tater Tots. The Kids both said their Breakfast was excellent. My Fries were the frozen premade battered type which I don't prefer, not Mandy's fault that I don't care for that type of French Fries. I did ask for them not to be cooked crispy & the Cook did that for me, so they were tolerable, but I sneezed my head off because of the type of additives that are in this kind of premade Frozen Battered Fries. (If you follow me, you'll know about my sneezing meter. Lol.) I don't like any French Fries that are crispy, so the Cook & Server did great on making sure the Fries weren't crispy. The Meatloaf on my Sandwich was spicy & there was nothing on the menu to indicate that it would be spicy, so unfortunately I didn't like it, because I don't like Spicy anything. My experience today will NOT prevent me from eating at Mandy's because I love this place & I just know now, not to ever order French Fies or Meatloaf. ♡ I will return & please enjoy today's photos. Breakfast today was simple and yummy. Eggs over hard, Sourdough Toast & Homefries. Yum. My dining partner had Chicken fried Steak, Eggs, Toast & Homefries. It looked terrific. Server was kind too. Came over today, at the recommendation of folks on the FB Eugene Foodies page. I needed a Chocolate Malt Milkshake badly & there were many recommendations, but Mandy's stuck out in my mind, because of my previous dining experiences here. Well, lemme say, I DID DONE GREAT COMING HERE for my Chocolate Malt Shake because, my tastebuds are having a full blown fantastic celebration right now! It took about 3 minutes of wait time, from order to my first sip of this aught to be illegal, Malty Fab Chocolate Shake! We discussed sprinkles vs the East Coast calling them Jimmy's instead & out the door, holding my precious bounty I went. I am VERY glad Mandy's is a drive from my house because this gal would be having a serious addiction to this shake! Please y'all, come give Mandy's a try, not just for a Malt Shake but for all their delicious offerings on the menu. You won't regret it. Oh & as usual, my sneeze report for those who follow me...no, I have never sneezed after eating at Mandy's! If y'all don't know what this means, please read some of my other reviews, no funny business going on here at Mandy's either. ♡ Sorry about the purple glow of the photos! Mandy's has a purple tent outside & the color underneath is reflected onto the whole area! *smile* So, onto the review...this morning their tent kept us dry & the heater kept us warm, which was quite awesome. I couldn't believe, more patrons werent there this morning, having some delicious breakfast too! I ordered the Mediterranean scramble with homefries & Sourdough toast. Oh my goodness, the creamy pesto, fresh feta, tomatoes & olives, combined absolutely perfect, with the fluffy scrambled eggs. The flavors were literally having a party in my mouth! Then there was the home fries! Let me tell you, holy cow, how can anyone get home fries to taste that incredible? The texture of each slice was crispy perfection on the outside & tender potatoey goodness on the inside. I didn't need salt or pepper on the home fries or the scramble either! Oh, did I mention that the portions were gigantic? I dipped my Sourdough Toast into the sweet, gooey, yummy, blackberry preserves & my tastebuds & tummy were blissfully happy! Thank you Mandy's! Why in the world doesn't everyone eat there? My dining partner ordered 4 eggs over hard & homefries o'Brien. He was shocked at the literal trough of homefries o'Brien & said, he would be eating them over the next 3 days. He hadn't eaten at Mandy's before & now he's hooked like I already was, pre-Covid. I truly wish the photos weren't purple, because you'd be licking your screen!

I've ate here a lot lately. Some of the cooks need improvement with a couple dinner items. Love the fireplace and it's even nicer with the candles lite on top, almost all the food is really good, although I would rather not have such huge portions of carbs, instead a lower price, especially when everyone is becoming obese and diabetic, I believe more places need a second diabetic menu, the staff is pretty good. Smothered chicken was really good, just too much chicken for me, I would prefer a thinner piece along with the toppings, green beans were so good, my friend got chicken alfredo which was really good, but more chicken then needed and only needs 1 piece of toast with all the carbs, salad is only lettuce, onion and tomato, I don't like raw onion even though my boyfriend does, it should be chopped up, but happy that this place has avocado to put with tomatoes although i don't want to pay extra for something I like on a salad, cucumber should be an option in place of onion, another friend got taco salad it was good, but would have rather had iceberg lettuce option just because it's easier to chew for some people, larger shell then needed. Anything that is spicy should also have an option for no spice like their salsa, also the meatloaf which was too spicy to me wasn't mentioned on the menu for people that are sensitive to spicy. The outside of it was obviously fried to heat up & way over cooked. The ketchup should be caramelized on the meatloaf while baking. Beef brisket is great, but one time out of 3 the aus jus was way too salty. Breakfast there is really good, once again more potatoes then needed when more people are trying to do low carb and the homefries are so good you want to eat them all. One time i got sweet potatoes that were overcooked, but doesn't look like they usually are, they should be orange and brown, not all dark. Love that they have my favorite honey mustard sauce to go with them, corn beef hash seemed to have added salt and was too salty which is not needed. Loved the big cup of cocoa w/whip cream and little blue sprinkles. Look forward to trying more.

Eclectic. Quirky. Personable. The food was good, but the waitress was really what made it worth the visit. She was solid and accommodating, and have the feeling that they'd have anything we really needed. The diner like menu hides some really great home cooking. The chili wasn't just some cans of stuff thrown together, it had pork belly, tender chunks of stew beef, plenty of beans, great seasoning, and they were willing to top it with onions and cheese. So good. The vegetable on the side of the country fried steak were amazing, savory green beans with mushrooms and onions that had had some real attention paid to them. The steak was crisp and tasty enough and the brown gravy was served in plentitude, but the mashed potatoes were amazing, chunky, well peppered as well as buttered, creamed, and scooped like savory ice cream. And the garlic toast was beautiful as well as tasty. There's a really interesting mind in the kitchen here. And I was really grateful for the enormous mug of peppermint tea. Hubby loved the Greek salad and the beer selection.

Let me first start this review by saying that my experience does not speak for everyone. My friend and I came into Mandy's at around 1 pm. It was not busy at all and we were seated promptly. Our server came over and we greeted her kindly and got our orders taken. 45 minutes went by, and our food had not come out yet and no one came to check on us. Flagging down our server, any employee really, was impossible as no one was out on the floor. Eventually, another employee came out and told us that our order had not been sent back to the kitchen and that the cooks were going to go ahead and make ours "on the fly". 20 more minutes go by, and our food is still not out. One group comes in and gets waited on and seated by the same server that had helped us in the beginning, and she does not acknowledge our presence in the slightest even though she is still technically our server. After she left to give them time to look over the menu, my friend gave them a heads up about how we'd been waiting on our food for over an hour now. The server came back and the group asked her about the food wait time, where she then dismissively motioned toward us and said "Oh it's just them on accident". Eventually, I got up out of my seat and went to look for an employee to ask about our food as this server did not seem to want to help us in the slightest, and then they finally bring it out (a total of 1hr15min wait for a breakfast burrito and omelet!). For food that was supposed to be "made on the fly", the food was not fresh off the grill hot. We eventually got our bill from the guy who had told us about how the order not going through, our original server no longer serving us. Upon looking at the bill however, our bill and tip would still be going towards the server who did not serve us, instead of the guy who helped us. We paid and then my friend went to find the guy to talk to him and thank him before leaving, saying how we appreciated his kindness but we felt disrespected by the other server. We were not sure if it was because we were younger or if we also happened to be people of color, but we were upset with how we were treated. As we were walking out the door, the guy stopped us and said how they were down a server now because our server was crying in the back because she was upset that race was brought up, and he emphasized how she was indigenous. In no way were we saying that we experienced racism/micro-aggressive behavior or that we were treated in such a way solely because of our race. The guy emphasized how it was a technology issue, which we understood and were fine with. We were not fine with how the other server treated us. We were extremely unhappy by the dismissive behavior and how she did not personally address the delays, but instead had someone else come over. I understand working in food service/hospitality can be extremely stressful and difficult. I used to work in food service, and I can empathize. However, I will not tolerate it when you treat me and my friend with rude, dismissive behavior. I cannot control how you feel, but if your response to someone calling you out on your poor customer service skills is to pull the race card (when we are also both people of color), then I suggest you do some...
