The Urbane Hitchhiker during the 2020...20...20... covid crisis would be wise to take a breakfast at this quaint and internationally vibed dear family bakery and cafe'.They are Thankfully!! Opened after a several month Covid closure.
This traveler has breakfasted many times always refreshed, revitalized, and nourished with some of the most incredible baked goods and quality vegetarian or carnivorous choices to select from. a delightful pan national eclectic menu. Today pleasantly courtyard seating avail or to go. Being a chef of many years kitchen experience, I am particularly sensitized to the subtle levels that the entire workflow and food preparation process includes and is served up as Cornucopial Bounty! . The food here is made with that rare ingredient in the ever more mechanistic Hypermodern Cultural shift we are all noticing. Meaning: the entire place is, I dare say, .filled with LOVE. So be ware this All Hallows Season!. Also notable at this location on Gaia: Goodness, Charity, and again the one quality that is impossible to impose in a Master-Slave Labor Management standoff. Creative freedom, and family producing Love. I say this now nourished by my excellent coffee, subtly spiced home fry potatoes, and feeling 100% more energized with Good Chi and Flow for my continued adventures in Eugene, OR

Read moreGreat local sport for breakfast in the Whittaker Neighborhood. Just the right amount of quirky. Even with a wall mounted menu that's not terribly easy to interpret, the staff is helpful and they'll be happy to walk you through options that aren't even on the menu. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Fun food options and good coffee. Annoying that coffee refills are a dollar while you're enjoying a meal, but I have to believe this practice is in place because a free refill program was throughly abused at some point. Still, it's an annoyance. Can't think of any other breakfast joint in town that embraces this practice.
If I didn't like the place I'd still be stoked with the clearly labeled gender neural bathrooms. Why can't these be adopted more universally? This sort of positive action makes me believe they're likely great community partners in a host of ways I'm not even aware of. Just makes me want to continue my support of the establishment.
(Five stars, but the additional coffee charge is still a burr...
Read moreI was advised to come here from a coworker. I was looking forward to it, but my experience was awful. I ordered my food and the server gave me my food. But as I started eating it, a lady from the kitchen ran out and said they mixed up the orders and took the food they had served me and gave it to the person who ordered it then brought me my correct salad. A minute after I started eating again, I found tiny clear worms crawling through my salad. I brought it to an employee who laughed it off, didn't apologize, and refused to comp my entire lunch. I left hungry, grossed out, and not feeling like a valued customer.
A lot of people, especially older Eugene natives, love this place and their bread looked fantastic, so I'm sure my first and only experience was a rare oddity. Nevertheless, it was a terrible experience, and I will be filing a dispute with my bank for being charged for such an awful time since the employees were unwilling to make it right...
