I absolutely love Prince Puckler's! They always have so many great ice cream and sorbet flavors. Recently I've had their mint chocolate chip (Obama's favorite) and I also had their Key Lime Sorbet in a waffle cone. While both were delicious I definitely lean towards the mini chocolate chip. My friend had a Mandarin chocolate ice cream and she loved it.
The line here can be long, especially on warm evenings in the spring and summer but it moves fairly quick. They usually have plenty of staff to get through the line at a steady pace.
Some things to note. You can try whatever flavors you like before deciding, which is great if you're unsure about certain flavors. The ice cream isn't exactly cheap compared to what you can buy at the grocery store, but in my opinion 100% worth it for the quality. And the prices are on par with other ice cream places here in Eugene. Waffle cones are free with your ice cream on Wednesdays and they've always been fresh and not stale when I've had them. Don't be thwarted by the line. I promise it goes by fast. I also love that they are open fairly late compared to most places. I want to say at least 11pm, but I don't know the hours off the top of my head. But it's fantastic to know that after a nice meal out I don't have to rush to go get dessert. I can take my time after dinner and I know that Prince Puckler's will...
Read moreWe had a most unexpected and delightful experience at Prince Pucklers when recently visiting Eugene. It was highly recommended to us by a restaurant across the street during dinner time. However, when my son, and I rushed over to try their ice cream, we noticed that the owner was closing up and heading out.
On her way out, she noticed how visibly disappointed my kid was and heard me mentioned that this was our only night in Eugene. She was kind enough to open her door invite us in, and give him a scoop of his favorite ice cream, even though she could easily have closed up and headed home. it was a particularly moving gesture, considering she had close up her payment systems for the night and knew she would not be able to charge me for the scoop.
I cannot put a price to the joy that this owner gave my child, but it was an experience that touched both of us so much that he urged me to leave a review once we got back home to California.
Thank you, Prince Puckler’s! We loved your orange Creamsicle ice cream and will be recommending you to any friends that visit...
Read moreMy kids and I are trying ice cream from different places around Oregon. We came down from Salem and it was easy to find using the gps. The shop is a little small so maybe around 10 people can go in at a time to be at the counter and not in the dining area. So there was a little line to get in but it moved very quickly. The gentleman that helped us was very kind and even asked if I wanted a mini double scoop as the scoops are rather large and it was for a 12 year old. I’m glad he did ask because the mini was more than my son could finish. Now the yummy part. My daughter got a milkshake (raspberry cheesecake) and it was the perfect consistency and the flavor was good. Another daughter got a waffle cone with a scoop of raspberry truffle we much was rather large and tasty. My son got a mini double scoop of mint Oreo and mint chocolate chip. There were lots of chunks of Oreos. I got a scoop of the cookie jar in a bowl. The flavor was good and there were lots of chunks of goodies. This place is well worth the drive and wait. We will be back...
