Amazing pizza place, we stopped in here for lunch the other day and had a wonderful time. Really nice wood fired pizza with a mix of traditional and "fancier" topping options that is still affordably priced. I'll just say I've had more than a few more expensive pizzas in this town that were not up to this standard. If you've ever been to Seize the Cafe, you have an idea of the sort of quality and attention to detail to expect here. We got the Serious Pie with mushrooms, and it was even better than expected. Mushrooms were tender and very flavorful. The seating is low-key and relaxing. It gives off the feeling of a smaller neighborhood pizzeria. I haven't tried the ice cream yet, but it's just another example of the business trying to branch out in interesting ways to offer more to their diners. I highly recommend this restaurant of you find yourself around South Eugene, and are in the mood for a delicious and well made pizza. They cut slices here, not corners.

Ordered a couple of pizzas. One was delivered and then after a long wait the other. It looked like they were training staff and the first pepperoni pie was over cooked. Would have been nice if they let us know they were remaking it, but they did apologize for the wait when they brought the 2nd one which was still slightly overcooked. My pizza, The Serious Pie was good. Staff were friendly and suggested desert which we took to go. The choice of homemade caramel ice cream was ok, could have used a swirl of caramel or something and was a bit plain.

I had high hopes; premium toppings, small viby shop, wood fired oven, the makings of greatness. My slice had ok flavor, I didn't love the sauce but the real deal killer was the majorly undercooked, chewy bottom, which even a warming trip in the oven didn't remedy. I'm hoping it was just an off pie for them. I absolutely wouldn't rule them out, they're aiming high and it's a new establishment.

Tried out their Lovely 'Rita (no photo, because we were really hungry and wanted to get to the eating), which was both pleasant and a disappointment.

The sauce, crust, cheese, tomato, and basil were fine -- but the salt was not. It seemed like there had been sea salt sprinkled on top of the pizza, resulting in some super salty spots. I have to take stars off for that; the salt was just way too much. Some bites tasted like salt and nothing else.

The atmosphere was all right, but could use a little bit of improvement; all the paintings and photographs on the walls are a nice touch and add a lot to the atmosphere, but the lighting is definitely on the dim size, and the interior doesn't really feel like a pizza place. The area around the counter and pizza display need more light, to better highlight them. Warmer light, instead of the current white, would be better, too.

The location has great potential, if the owners take advantage of it. The lack of other pizzerias in the area, the proximity to the Y and Roosevelt middle school offer opportunities: If the pizza variety were to be extended, and (some) recipes made slightly less niche, considerable success could follow.

Service was friendly and accurate in their time estimate.

All in all, we wish Seize the Slice all the best and will watch their progress...

This was my first time eating here and chose this place as I’d eaten at every other pizza shop in a two mile radius and was curious to see what they were offering. I ordered three pizzas and a ceasar salad. Firstly the ceasar salad dressing was delicious and unique and the greens were very fresh and crisp. The wood fired pizzas are made with a thin crust and the red sauce tastes homemade and has a hint of sweetness. The toppings and cheeses are quality and I especially liked their sausage. Prices are reasonable given the size of the pie. I will definitely be going back again soon. They also offer slices of the day. Glad I stopped in to check it out. The employees were very...
