Update (11.3.23): I'm not going to lower my rating but, I am going to say I'm getting a little tired of making the exact same complaint about S&G. Which is - if you're out of an ingredient PLEASE TELL CUSTOMERS and offer a sub. Especially for those of us who order only through the app, because the app does not tell us if a location is running low on say tomatoes (which it probably should - maybe the dev team could work on the app?). I'm sure if I went through the drive thru line they would say "Hey, we don't have any tomatoes for your Greek salad, would you like something else?" So why is it so hard for them to tell me, when I pull up to the "mobile orders" window, that? At this point anyone working at S&G knows that customers are going to be making customizations to their order so I refuse to believe that they are simply "forgetting" to put something on my salad/wrap/bowl, etc. Because if that's the case they "forget" an awful lot of the time. No, I think it's a case of "Oh well, we'll just make this person's order and not tell them we're out of something and hope they don't notice." There needs to be something in the app that lets customers know if they're out of something at a specific location, because this is an ongoing problem that isn't being adressed.
Food, service and price are still A+++ though! 😄
Update (6.7.23): Upping my rating to 4 stars; just ordered their new antipasto salad through the app (with a couple modifications) and went to pick it up at the pickup window and the fellow there was very polite and the salad had all the correct ingredients and looks amazing! Keep up the good work guys! If the service and quality after my next few visits continues to stay consistently good at this location I will definitely up my rating to 5 star 👍
(Edit: I will say though, I'm not exactly loving the fact that S&G overall increased the prices for extra ingredients, i.e. from $.30 to $.59. I love to add extra toppings and it's actually one of the great things about S&G, how customizable it is. And I saw it happen almost in real time, from one day to the next, in the app. It's kind of a bummer, but if they keep the quality good, the ingredients fresh and the service friendly and quick, then I'm sure most customers won't mind paying a little extra for those toppings. I'm still gonna eat here 'cause it's just that good! 😂)
Original Review: I love Salad and Go. Like LOVE it. However, today I went to this new location for the second time since it opened, and I'm a little disappointed. I ordered through the app (it's easier) and when I pulled up to the window I was told they were out of one of my lettuce/greens choices, which was totally fine! I didn't mind that. But I ordered the autumn salad and paid extra for other toppings and when I got home I saw there were no cranberries or pecans on my salad (which it should have come with). It still tasted great, don't get me wrong, but it would have been nice if the lady at the window, in addition to letting me know they were out of mixed greens, had also informed me that they were apparently out of cranberries and pecans. I'll keep eating here because I love it but not super impressed at the moment.
Staff, please PLEASE inform customers - especially those of us who order through the app and have no way of knowing before we pay for our order - if you are out of something and offer a substitution. Don't just NOT tell us that you're out...
Read moreI LOVE this idea, and for many years, I had hoped that someone would come up with a drive-thru salad place, and here we are today with a drive-thru salad place. Heck Yeah!!! At first it was great, but sad to say that at 2 different locations, the NRH location once, and Euless location twice, I had a piece of plastic in my salad (the corner of a bag they had cut off and it ended up mixed in with my salad). I've been to 4 locations, (Blue Mound, Watauga, NRH, and Euless), and I have to say the Euless location is the worst! 0nce, I had toppings missing on my Roasted Autumn Salad (the pecans, parm cheese, AND the tofu). The time before last, I ordered the turkey, sausage, and cheese breakfast burrito with ceasar dressing (not a fan of the salsa), and my stomach was in knots all day. This last time I visited was about a couple of weeks ago. I ordered 3 salads, right as they opened at 6:30. Two Cobbs and the new Antipasto Salad, and both my wife and I ended up getting sick. We felt nauseous and were running to the bathroom on and off throughout the day and night. Like WTH??? I have never visited a fast food place that I had so many issues with. I SO want to like this place because salad is my favorite food and the prices you can't beat. It's so cheap! The ceasar dressing is the best I've ever had anywhere, and the Cucumber Mint lemonade/tea is so refreshing and good, but I'm not sure if I want to take anymore chances, especially with the Euless location. Maybe I'll have to drive the extra miles back to the NRH location since it's the second closest? Not ready to give up just yet. If I have one more issue, I won't be back to any Salad &...
Read moreThe cobb salad with buffalo chicken is my new obsession. The kids and husband love the chicken caesar wraps and salads. Previous visits, I ordered the cold brew (tasty) and southwest breakfast wrap which wasn’t stellar but a decent sized wrap for breakfast. I just thought the sausage was bland for the “southwest” name. The other menu item I didn’t care for was the cucumber mint drink because I had to come home and strain out the cucumber pulp to enjoy it. I hope that was just part if the staff learning to make the menu items. Didn’t realize cucumber pulp was a thing. Still 5 star worthy for the salads. Love the wide drive through lane for my truck. It’s also been a while since “fast food” was actually served quickly. It’s so convenient for a weekday lunch break or anytime just because it’s too hot to cook at home. It is a good sign that everyone in my household already has a go to menu item so I can surprise them and know I’m getting something they like. The simplicity of the menu is refreshing for anyone who struggles with deciding. It’s also affordable at about $6 per meal so you can return frequently and try everything. I don’t want them to get too popular and lose the good quality and quick service but I have to give them credit. Opening this Texas location in summertime temperatures was a genius move by ownership. My new...
