I found out about Elephant + Vine from one of the founders at Barn Sanctuary in Chelsea Michigan. Had to come to Chicago to see what the hype was about! The ascetic from the outside is simple and modern, you walk into a fresh environment with a super friendly, happy staff! Vanessa was my Server tonight, she recommended the In-House-made Ranch for My Tenders and made sure I wanted everything on the Delicious Crispy Brussels. I also got the Portohouse Bowl! (I’m a Mushroom Girl!) It was so yummy, I loved the Spicy Slaw and the In-House-made Siracha Aioli was the best thing I tried at Elephant +Vine. Franks will have to step aside cause I’m putting that Siracha on EVERYTHHHAAAAANG. They literally need an Elephant + Vine Sauce Line. Vanessa was so sweet, brought my food out to me, made sure everything was to my liking, brought me extra sauce and even motioned Goodbye while she was on the phone taking orders as I was leaving. Top Notch Experience at Elephant + Vine. They have a second location in Evanston if you can’t make it into the city. As well as a Plant Based Restaurant called Spirit Elephant in Winnetka that I can’t wait to make a trip just to check it out. I drove almost 4 hours to try this and I knew it was going to be good, but the experience was even better. Portions are great and filling. I have another meal that I can’t wait to...
Read moreI had no choice but to leave this review as I had lunch here a couple times and it wasn’t the best. My experience with this business has been disappointing all around. The food is mediocre, nothing to really rant and rave about tbh and I’ve tried a couple things on the menu. The dishes lack developed flavors and aren’t hitting the mark. I’ve had way better vegan dishes across the city such as Kale My Name & Can’t Believe It’s Not Meat. I think ppl should look elsewhere as their menu is childish in my opinion and not executed well. And my last and most serious issue as to why I would never eat here again is one of their employees has served me food on 2 different occasions and the back of my nose was immediately on fire. This man’s hygiene is so poor my eyes have watered and I’ve gagged. It has made me weary to continue to eat here because if an employee is allowed to smell that obscene, what are the standards in the kitchen for cleanliness?! It just seems unprofessional and negligent to have someone smelling that poorly in a space...
Read moreI had a card for Buy 1 Entree Get 1 Free that they had given out. I had never been there but this made me go. There were no signs indicating what their “Chik’n” was made out of & the employee I asked seemed super put out that I asked because the restaurant was completely self service with kiosks & she was doing other things (there were 2 other employees & my question took 1 min & I was very polite). Then when I tried to order - on the kiosk - there was no place to put in my BOGO coupon so I had to ask them to help me again. This time the manager came up to help check me out & again he wasn’t super happy & he actually seemed a little put out. Food was good. Of course everyone was annoyed when I asked for a to go box for the second entree because self service apparently doesn’t encompass the entire restaurant. If you want an over priced bowl & rude service made just go to...
