My husband & I arrived about 9:45pm. We noticed the Monday nite closing time of 10:30pm but decided that was plenty of time for us already being familiar with the menu and usually taking half to go. Upon entering, we noticed only 1 visible set of guests still dining at a group of tables in front of the fish tank, but no one there to greet us at the Hostess stand. We stood there probably 3 to 4 minutes before a young man from the back came up & asked if we'd like to sit at the bar, however we prefer to sit in the dining area and asked for a booth. The waitress arrived promptly for our drink orders, & being mindful of the time we also provided her with our food order. We ordered an appetizer of the Honey Butter Croissants, and our personal menu favorites: he the salty/sweet goodness that is the Monticristo, and the fresh, yet tangy handheld Buffalo Chicken Wrapper for myself. The croissants arrived beautifully, right out of the oven and between the 2 of us, didnt last long. It's a good thing we didnt need the little saucers she left us though to eat them off of because she unknowingly brought us dirty ones. We ate them so quickly when the waitress returned to clear the table, we didn't bother to tell her about it, as she said she'd be right back with our sandwiches. When our main course arrived everything seemed as should be. My husband & I both dove into our hot french fries sharing the ranch that came with my sandwich. Cheddars Ranch is (amazing) BTW. I actually felt bad, for not noticing right away, I had my plate for probably 10 mins before moving on from my fries when I noticed the chicken on my sandwich had been grilled & its supposed to be their crispy chicken tenders. My husband quickly spotted another Cheddars team member, unsure of her duties, but asked if she could help correct the issue. She immediately was more than happy to help, and ended up bringing the corrected version out herself fairly soon after. Our waitress soon returned with our check, & after being made aware of the issue to apologize, as I did to her as well. We meant to have a quick late bite, but now the time had gotten away from all of us so I let her know that I'd be happy to take mine to go, just as it was being brought out. When the waitress returned with the "To Go" Boxes she also brought with her a revised discounted copy of our check, that was much appreciated. No we didnt have a "perfect" meal, but I feel like measures were taken to better our experience. We were getting into our car about 10:45pm. Things happen. Thanks Cheddars, we'll be...
Read moreI haven't been here in a few years, till today. My nephew and I stopped for lunch. I suggested it "good food reasonably cheap". Not a great experience, at all. 1st they seemed busy, we had 2 people in front of us. The hosts escorted them to their table, then us really nice and smooth expected it to take longer. Then right after the waitress came over "our kitchen is really backed up right now. Can I get your drinks and a appetizer?" we ordered both. She returned quickly less than 5 mins, my nephew ordered first. The buffalo chicken wrap, she then reached over him opened his menu. "Do you want this one, pointing. Or the lunch special one". "What's the difference? " the lunch special is only half, and the other comes with fries ". $6 or$9 not really a issue, he orders the $9. I order their ribeye (I know they're not a steak house, just really wanted one). It was not a good steak, very little flavor. Oh well I knew it was a gamble. Nephew's plate had 4 1/2 wraps and fries. Way to much food after the waitress suggested that the lunch special wasn't much food. 5 minutes later waitress brings me another drink (new glass refill, sweet tea). I thanked her. Then put my straw in the cup raised it to my mouth almost took a drink. I am not sure what was in the drink but it was big like a 1 inch cube of floating gross stringy stuff. I can't say for sure what it was looked like raw chicken that was in water till it broke down, then frozen. I called the waitress over asked for a different drink she agrees. She takes two steps from table and turns around. Oh my God it's in the ice, look you can see it has ice stuck to it. "Ok, bring me a sweet tea no ice". She comes back with 2 cups one tea one ice. "Here I brought ice, you can decide. I don't see anything in the ice. I couldn't believe she would even bring me a questionable cup. Shouldn't all the ice have been thrown out? Before this the table next to us, complained to manager about their food. Seems to have went downhill fast since my last visit. I would recommend staying clear of this restaurant. I will update tomorrow if I get food poisoning. RUN!
Also I spent over $50 for lunch for...
Read moreWe went to cheddars on Green River Rd., Thursday the 21st 2024 we were seated at a dirty table with dirty seats so we moved to another table that was also not clean so we got it cleaned off. they were cleaning tables on the other side of where we were sitting , our waitress was sweeping under the tables and also using the broom to sweep the seats out ,what the heck! cleaning the floor and the seats with the same broom I don’t think so ! spray some sanitizer on the seat and clean them with a towel not the broom you swept the floor with . Not sanitary, if the health department saw that they would flip out ! what if someone walked in after being in a horse barn, and they swept the floor where their feet were and the seat as well with the same broom, which is what she did, and someone else came in and sat down ? first of all Croissants were not very good. My wife ordered the sirloin and fried shrimp with coleslaw and baked potato, steak was salty, and the fried shrimp had too much cayenne pepper in it. as for my meal, I ordered the baked White fish with rice and mashed potatoes and we both ordered coleslaw with our meals. My fish was so salty that it almost wasn’t fit To eat. Also, the coleslaw was aged. It was too old! not fresh. You can tell fresh coleslaw. This was not good, Neither one of us ate it . all in all the place was not very clean. The food was not good. Not for the money you pay. We will not eat there again. I wouldn’t recommend going there to anyone. It cost us $51 for food that was not acceptable for a place like cheddars, who generally has a good reputation. things are so high anymore that when you spend money for something you want your money‘s worth , We have eaten at the Terre Haute cheddars, and it is way different from the one in Evansville! Very clean, very good service and excellent food.. You know it’s easy to complain about something but if your food is good, you’ll say it’s good ,if your food is not good you’re gonna leave a bad review. Heads up ! managers of cheddars on Green...
