After visiting the LST 325 in Evansville Indiana for the D-Day anniversary activities for the week we decided to stop in Lic’s for lunch. The group consisted of our family of four and my parents.
The service from the people that took our order was outstanding. We have one child with severe food allergies and the staff were very determined to ensure our questions regarding ingredients were answered accurately. The food was prepared quickly and was exceptional when it came out. Food quality and portion size were both above standard. The cleanliness of the restaurant was above our expectations; in all areas. Cleanliness is very important to us, and this place was one of the best we have ever been to. Due to the aforementioned allergies, our son does not have the chance to eat ice cream, but was able to have the Sorbet and he was in heaven; it made his little day!
We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of the deli as it was very much what an old time Soda-Jerk was like!
Overall, we would highly recommend Lic’s to anyone and everyone if they are in Evansville. You can rest assured that we...
Read moreNot impressive. The food is mediocre and often times I find the ice cream mediocre as well. They offer a few special items that I enjoy now and then, however, everything is over priced. This location is dingy for somewhere that utilizes such a bright white color scheme. When they bring their summer staff in, it's like a breath of fresh air, because the staff who works during the day throughout the year is disappointing. They are not attentive and seem easily annoyed. They could have a total of five customers and maybe a single car in the drive, and still manage to be overwhelmed and then take it out on the customer who is patiently waiting 15-30 minutes for a single grilled cheese and soup. After giving it multiple tries and even trying to connect with the staff during my lunch break for a few months, I had to give it up. It's not worth the money or the time until there are some major...
Read more30 minutes for a to go order today. That is way too long and there’s zero excuse. And the chips today were just a pile of broken chip pieces- messy to eat. Brown lettuce on my sandwich. When I checked in to be sure they had put my order in (after 20 minutes) the lady rudely responded “we’ve been really busy”. Actually, no. Not busy enough for a sandwich to take 30 minutes- to go. I would expect 30 minutes at a sit down, table service restaurant. I asked for no tomatoes- tomatoes on my sandwich. There were 3 people in front of me when I ordered and 2 couples sitting and waiting for perspective.
5 months later: waited 25 minutes for a to go order. No cheese on my wrap that has cheese on it. I’ll try again in another 5 months. Maybe it...
