I've been wanting to try hotpot for so long. I come from a small town, and only watched people have it on YouTube. The concept of you cooking at your own table might seem a bit strange for Americans, but in Asian cultures it is commonplace, especially Japan. My husband and I brought our daughter. We were a bit confused and our waitress was very busy. She really didn't give us clear details about how to order, but we figured it out. Once again, I do not fault her for this; we went during a somewhat busy time, and she was handling tables pretty much alone. Get the "All You Can Eat" hotpot. It's smart, cost-effective, and you get a nice array of veggies and meats. Many people will not just want 2 or 3 things to sample. We had lamb, beef, mushrooms, bok choy, broccoli, and made our own sauces. This is a very self-serve kind of place, and I love it. This is perfect for date night, or bring the kids and let them sample some veggies they've probably never tried before. For the older kiddos (I suggest 10 or older, my daughter is 8), get them their own pot and let them customize their meal. Share veggies and meats with your spouse or date, bond over which flavors pair well. Very good food and very neat concept that I could not believe I found here in Evansville. On that note, a few suggestions: instructions on the tables for newbies who likely are not familiar with how to order (like ourselves) a visual guide to demonstrate how "cooked" your veggies/meats are. These kinds of places do admittedly come with a possible undercooked food hazard yall need more help!! Its not a big deal, but our poor waitress forgot about various things and it took such a long time to even get our drinks. We had to ask nearly 3 times for a glass of water on that note, a self-serve machine for...

The thing that sets this establishment apart is the reason you should go, the hot pot. So you order the size of broth and vessel to cook from, (yes you do cook your own food) then you get to pick what broth you'd like to cook in the broth, in the bowl you've chosen. After that you choose what you'd like from a fairly extensive list of ingredients. Several meats from most of the normal animals we are all used to eating plus things you may not be used to eating but are still delicious non the less. Loads of veggies to go along with the meal as well. Once you've assembled that list and placed your order there is bar where you create your own sauce concoction from several ingredients again. You can dip or pour the sauce in to the broth if you'd like, it's your meal do as you want. Once all your ingredients are brought to you there is an induction cook top built in to the table you can use to cook with. The bowl they bring will heat up and boil pretty quickly. Then once your liquid is up to temp you can start to cook your ingredients however you'd like. Pro tip, if you order broccoli or any other long cook time food, start with that. Take it from someone who's experienced it.
I'm not very in to cooking my own food in a restaurant that I'm paying to eat at and if you are in my camp on that stance I urge you to relax that feeling a little bit. Get a few friends or your family together and go, you'll loosen up and have a fantastic meal and a great time with your friends and family.
I can't recommend this place enough if you are in the trystate area and want try something different, so long as you are capable of having a good time you'll enjoy...
