I used to come here all the time when I worked in Everett. I absolutely LOVED the pot roast sandwich. Absolutely the best! Bread was great, and the meat was always very tender and juicy. I would make time out of my schedule just to get here from time to time.
Today I decided to stop by, as it's been years. So I was extremely excited to come back! I walked in and I immediately noticed a change in atmosphere. No workers. No people. The menu sign changed. I initially thought it was just a remodel. Realized it was new ownership when an Asian lady came up after I rang the bell on the counter. She seemed nice, which is a good sign. Looked at the menu for the pot roast, and I immediately go " what the hell, the prices are insane for a normal sandwich now ". Obviously I don't say this out loud.
I received the sandwich pretty quick. Bread is whatever. It used to be really good bread. Portion was very small considering the price. I got the regular. Meat was dry, and there wasn't that much mayo to change that. Everything was bland compared to what it used to be. I fondly remember the onions and sauce from before.
Atmosphere was dead. No music. Hardly any decor. Just seemed sad. Really bums me out.
Overall, it's fine. Nothing I would really recommend. I don't think I'd ever go back considering the price. Go to Tubs Subs if you want a good sandwich.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be coming back. RIP to this golden jewel of a place. Hopefully it...
Read moreWent to Red Rock subs after starting an online order. Ordered 2 original roast subs. I haven't been here in over a year.
If you order online be mindful that they prioritize in house orders. The regular subs appear shorter than before. However, the roast beef amount was thick, juicy and delicious. I wish that the caramelized onions were the same amount front to end of sub. But the consistency of the meat was thick. The bread was fresh and warm not what I assumed 'toasted' would be. But, not complaining. The service was decent better than previous trips.
I do wish the online orders and in house orders were done in order but, this system must work better for them.
Overall, the sub was good. The garlic mayo could be better and there were some parts that had way more than others. Bread, meat and cheese were good as well.
The price has increased and I think if the pot roast meat was better seasoned and the consistency of the onions and garlic mayo were fixed this could def be a good twice a month visit for me.
The service has always been "iffy" here. Usually, staff is very busy and stressed. Or they are slow and not quick to conversation. This time it was an older couple and the food had much improvements than before.
I will return at a busier time to see if the pot roast remains tasty closer to opening. As I went at a late...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews but I had such a difficult experience I want others to be prepared. I have been there twice both times with online orders. Each time the expected time was about a half an hour after order which is okay, especially during busy hours. The first time I arrived early by about five minutes and they hadn't started my order but started as soon as I walked in an asked if it was ready. It was ready within about ten minutes. A little slow for a single sandwich but not slow enough it scared me to go there again. The second time my boyfriend went to pick it up on time. They had not started It yet, and it was not ready for an additional almost half hour. He said that their was a person who had been their since eleven and got their food right before him at around 12:40. And that the restaurant was to the point they weren't picking up the phone even with at least 4 employees. I got a fountain soda and it was just sparkling water with no syrup in it. The subs themselves are tasty, they have good vegan and gluten free options, and I didn't have any directly negative experiences with the employees but I shouldn't have to wait an hour for...
