We've eaten here (mostly take out) over 30 times now. We must drive well over an hour each way, to dine here. (But talk about a worthwhile trip!) I've reviewed them on multiple sites over the last few years and now I'd like to review them here:
This is a place loyal locals count on for consistently tasty food. At this family owned and operated caffeteria/diner it's all about FLAVOR! I've eaten Indian cuisine - especially northern - in many places, worldwide, and Tasty's Chef/owner offers a few sauces that are easily in the top five of my best-ever catagory! ATMOSPHERE: Tasty's ambiance is not elegant - but then neither is it fussy nor pretentious. However, it HAS been clean every time I or any of my family members picks up our order or dines in. There's NEVER been a single sign of any vermin (unless one observes the couple of angry racist customers who occasionally pop in to abuse the staff - yes, I've seen it). STAFF: There's a young gent who works there sometimes, who seems a bit sullen and reluctant to interact. I've made a point to get to know him a bit (rather than rushing to judgement) and have learned he's a nice guy who is quite shy. (He's not rude.) More often, we are served by Raj who is bright, warm, open and obviously enjoys being your hostess/server....a true credit to front-of-the-house. I look forward to my chats with her every time and she goes above and beyond to assure my meals are exactly to order. And because we drive that far, and love leftovers, we order large quantities and have NEVER had to wait for Tasty's made-to-order food for an unreasonable amount of time. Not even once. MENU FAVS: I recommend their BUTTER CHICKEN, (medium spicy) using thigh meat rather than the tandoori breast meat - which is better in the Tikka Masala (spicy) which my foodie son in law loves.
Their PRAWN KORMA is awesome and I can't resist taking home their big generous and seductively aromatic LAMB BIRYANI.
Their house specialty Naan has to be the ever-popular garlic Naan! Chewy and aromatically meal-enhancing. And their absolutely perfect Basmati is so consistent you can take it to the bank (if there's any left over).
Be sure to check their open hours online then drop...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I rarely ever write reviews but this place absolutely warrants one. Tonight my hubby and I decided to dine in rather than order from Doordash. One Doordarshan charges you alot more and 2 your at the mercy of the driver. LET ME TELL YOU...BEST DECISION EVER!! every time we order online the food has always been delicious and hot, but Tonight they blew our minds and taste buds. Our servers were super warm and friendly and our food came out super quick. When I tell you the food made my soul happy I am not kidding. We ordered alot. We got the Lamb Goa Coconut Curry which melted in your mouth. It was sooooo tender and the spices hit every single note. The Butter Chicken was hands down so moist and flavorful and for 2 stars on the spice not that spicy. My soul was dancing they were both that damn good. The samosas are FULL and bursting with flavors than ever better with the mint and tamarind sauce. The Onion kultch and garlic Naan were piping hot and crispy on the bottom. This place looks simple but it's an absolute diamond in the rough and the only Indian place we will ever go to again. The only thing I wish is that they bring more rice to start, but our server brought more out as soon as we asked. Please don't miss this place. But order in because it's so much better...
Read moreFood is good I got their Sarson Ka Saag with chicken. Flavorful... however the service was lacking. We went on a Sunday at 1pm. Waiter was by herself, at first it was only my group (3 people) and another table. We ordered our food and waited... one of my friend only ordered an appetizer so we got that quick. About 15 min later about 4 more groups came. My friend and I were talking amongst ourselves but I noticed that at least 2 of the tables that came after us got all of their food... I flagged down the waiter and she checked and said it is coming soon but I think they forgot my order by then its been over 40min since we've ordered
I felt sorry for her since she was the only working but she forgot a lot of our order. My friend ordered a coke and we had to remind her because she forgot it, twice. Someone in the back helped out just a bit at the very end of our meal but it was a disappointment since there were so many reviews saying the place was good.
Also, I didn't notice till later on but the receipt said they were adding 3.5% credit card surcharge to accept credit cards. That was upsetting considering there was no signage in the restaurant and the waiter didn't...
