Edit Below:
Okay, if you're looking for the delicious Banh Mi flavor you've come to expect, and want more than what you paid for- Yummy Deli's where it's at. I will begin by stating that my first experience with Y.D's was through online delivery, due to the closures. But wow, what a meal!
I ordered myself a Banh Mi & Spring Roll combo, and what arrived seemed to be about two separate meals. One was the sandwich, the other were the rolls! If ever you wanted a Spring Roll Meal, order two of them and you'll get your wish. The portions are large, and the price is low. It was everything I wanted it to be, with one exception. The preparation and delivery were very quick. The food was filling and delicious, but the sauce was not.
Which also happens to be my only gripe. With the Spring Rolls comes a side of Peanut Sauce. Now, I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the batch, or if this is how is was supposed to be. It's super watery and broken, like a cream sauce that sat on the heat for too long. Instead of the silky, smooth and warm Peanut Sauce, I got this broken, cold, watery sauce that honestly made me question whether or not it was intentional. As far as taste is concerned- sorry, couldn't tell you. I opted not to consume it as I couldn't honestly confirm whether or not it was still edible. Not a good thing.
Ordered from here again: Peanut sauce is still sub par. I ordered a Bubble Tea this time- I'm not sure what's up, but the Tapioca "Boba" are questionable. I don't know if this is due in part to sitting for too long in the sugary solution, but they're too soft, some are almost completely dissolved and much of it is stuck together. Knocking off a Star for lack of quality control and the disappointment from the Bubble Tea. Seriously, the boba is the best...
Read moreIt's hard to find good banh mi anywhere in WA so it is exciting to have a solid place to go to near home. Just discovered this place and I will definitely be back. Also, the price is so good!
We each got 2 combos: Banh mi dat biet (special ham) + spring rolls and avocado bubble tea. Tofu Banh mi + egg rolls and taro bubble tea
Both sandwiches were great. The bread is very unique in size compared to most other banh mi, this is shorter and fatter but I was happy to see that they didn't skimp on filling it. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It's hard to find a place that does good tofu banh mi so it's amazing that they well season the tofu in a sauce. The dat biet sandwich has good mayo and pate, which only the legit places will have.
The egg rolls were good too, good proportion of meat and veggies. Spring rolls were alright, nothing to rave about.
The avocado bubble tea was so good. Love when places use real avocado! The taro bubble tea is pretty standard on what you'd find in other shops.
Overall, very happy with this place and will be back for more banh mi and trying other menu items! I would definitely recommend if you're looking for banh mi in the area without the hassle of...
Read moreSuper kind staff. I'd seen stir-fried tofu and rice on an online menu but not in the shop. They were happy to put that together for me, and it was tasty. The sauce on the tofu was savory with a little spice and hint of sweet. And they asked if I wanted fish sauce and since I didn't, they gave me some soy sauce on the side that was also nicely flavored with a little heat.
I also asked if they could do a non-dairy boba drink for me. They told me I could pick a fresh smoothie and it would taste different from usual but could be non-dairy. I got avocado and it was so delicious!! I loved that it wasn't super sweet and was glad they were able to do it since I was really craving boba. Would go back and probably try something different with tofu, like the sandwich or vermicelli...
