Late Post Aug' Our princess tour guide mentioned that Fairbanks is known for Thai Food with 20+ restaurants in the city! According to Northwest Travel and Life - Why so many Thai restaurants in Fairbanks? There was a migration of Thai people into the Alaska interior for gold mining; when that didn’t pan out, many stayed needing a livelihood. Restaurants followed.
Initially, the fam and I were supposed to head over to Lemongrass Thai Restaurant but after talking to our local uber driver she talked us into this spot. This was the best decision ever, this hidden gem located in downtown behind 1st street is worth the stop. The customer service very friendly, the floors were a bit sticky but please don’t judge them by that because the Thai Food here is insanely delicious!
Ordered Pad Kapao Chicken – Garlic sauce, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, basil leaves Pad Pak – Choice of meat with sauteed veggies in garlic sauce Drunken Noodle – Choice of meat stir fried noodles, eggs, veggies and fresh basil Pad zee ew – Choice of meat eggs, stir fried with homemade noodles and broccoli Fresh Spring Rolls – Veggies, soft noodles, eggs, wrapped in rice paper Thai Spring roll – Chicken bean thread, veggies, wrapped in pastry, deep fried – served with chili sauce
There were four of us, more than enough! We even took some home. I have never been to a place that make their noodles like this. Living in California, I am use to the mass production of them the perfect shape, size and taste. Here everything is made from scratch daily! Not all noodles were the perfect shape or size but the texture and flavor were awesome! I was so happy to see sooo many patrons walk in after us!
The only downside which wasn’t the restaurant’s fault was lyft and uber are basically non-existent – we tried for 30-45 mins to get a ride back to The Princess River lodge. If you are in this dilemma, walk across the street and head to the hotel, ask for taxi services and they will give you maybe 4-5 numbers. Should’ve don’t this after 10 mins of waiting!! Our driver was quick and cheaper than the Uber. Pay them a visit, one of the best Thai food joints I’ve...
Read moreThere is eating for food and then there is eating to be nourished. There are many Thai food places here in Fairbanks, yet today I found my favorite place. I got the House Noodle at the hot spice level. I was excited to try their home made noodles and I love the large noodles that come with three of their dishes. The woman who took my to go order made me feel welcomed and respected. The experience felt like being an honored guest in her home, yet it is a restaurant. I almost cried as she has a radiating spirit that reminds me of my own favorite Aunties. I was so humbled by her hospitality and grace. Fast forward to actually trying the famous noodles and I had a feeling it would be good but was unprepared for it to be life changingly good. Yummy to the power of yummy. Awesome spice level. Huge portion. The Noodles! A revolution in texture and flavor. I seriously don’t want to go to any other Thai restaurant in Fairbanks until I have tried everything on the menu at The Noodle House. Awesome fresh rolls and iced coffee. This place is extraordinary and the food is extra special. Looking forward to returning to dine in. This place is a place to nourish your body, mind and spirit. Note: the menu outside is a bit outdated (pictured below) - the prices have gone up but it...

We go here above many other places in town, because it feels like a great little business to support.
IF your out for Thai, THIS is the spot.
AND if you're looking for the BEST pho in town, it is HERE, don't bother going to other places that serve old meat and frozen veggies. Fresh, flavorful, excellent quality, above any place I've been to nationwide. And she's not afraid to give extra of what you need, veggies, no extra charge!
An array of special items and yummy delicious foods that anyone would love and choose from.
The owner can be a little short and quiet at first when ordering, but she is very sweet...
