They refused us service and asked us to leave because we are not COVID vaccinated.
I don’t understand the intent of this policy. If the staff is vaccinated as they say, there is no risk to them to allow unvaccinated people in. So why force all patrons to be vaccinated?
If the intent is to enforce public health and encourage vaccination, I ask if the Fairbanks Distilling company does not value independent free will? Do people not get to choose the course of their own healthcare?
And what about COVID recovery patients who are naturally vaccinated? Why are they unwelcome?
I find it ironic that a business that sells a product that kills people is taking such a pro public health message. I wonder when was the last time you promoted a sobriety campaign? How do you reconcile selling a product that is essentially a poison with your vaccination mandates?
Discriminating an entire group of people will only end badly. No one is going to change their mind about getting a vaccination to enter your premises. And further, why are you so concerned with the decisions of others? If you want a vaccination, get one. If not, don’t. Live and let live. It’s not hard.
Your exclusionary policy makes no sense and will only enrage the people you are discriminating. If your staff is vaccinated as you say, there is no risk and this isn’t an issue.
Further, if people enter the bar without a vaccination, it is because they chose to do so. It is not anyone’s place to mandate a vaccine and now that it is generally available, everyone who wants a vaccine has one. So if there is covid spread in the bar (highly unlikely at this point) it will only be among the people that chose to...
Read moreTerrible experience. I understand that any establishment can refuse service but we were welcomed just inside the door, masks on, and asked for proof of vaccinations. I have mine but my son has had to wait on his second shot. We promised to keep masks on. Still denied. This is not the Third Reich. You cannot ask to see our papers. Well, go ahead and ask but I will never recommend this place, their products, or their lackluster customer service. We were denied and told to come back. Not only am I from Michigan, but I looked forward to sampling these spirits all week. I will never go back and I hope you read my review and realize that even the airlines don't ask to see that vaccination card. You can't do that. Businesses in Most places that did that would be closed within a...
Read morePat and Lori are truly amazing, kind and patient people. Their place has yummy and quality alcohol. Pat's tour was very informative! Understanding the details and love that they put into their distilling process is beautiful. Their cocktails were delicious. Why go to a bar when you can go to Fairbanks Distilling Company? Pat, Lori, and the amazing young woman (I unfortunately forgot her name) also took time to help us figure out the best places to see the Northern Lights and a place to eat). What I appreciated most of all is how seriously they took COVID-19. They require proof of vaccination and adhere to safety precautions. Visit them! You won't be...
