Its winter full of snow but in construction season aka spring/summer its beautiful as on the river. Many events happen throughout the season such as vendors, summer solstice June 21st, Golden days in July, Wednesday evenings concerts from local bands or orchestras. Has beautiful fountain honoring sled dog breed which actually a friend of mine they used her dogs as her family bred them. I live 2-3 blocks from and its beautiful in summer with the flowers and river across from Doyon area and Immaculate Conception Church which is over 100 yrs old..much to explore this area in...

There were a number of people loitering around the space, which made me feel uncomfortable. One man approached us from behind, and when I turned toward him, he spun around and quickly walked away. It is perhaps my own biases that made me feel not entirely safe, but I was glad not to be there alone. It is the endpoint of the Rubber Ducky race at Goldendays festival. Venders use the plaza for many events thru out the year.
