First off: I have to say that if you plan on staying here in July check the weather and temperature gage because the rooms do not come equipped with COLD AC of any kind. Only a ceiling fan and a look alike Dyson floor fan that barely blows any air even on High, like in Hi goodbye...LOL Good location from Fairbanks Airport. Just 10 mins away.
The accommodations were actually quite cozy but without the Air Conditioning aspect it sort of lost its appeal, at least for me. This is because for day one it was humid. During this time you have 24 hour daylight which means radiant heat all day. Temperatures here can range from 85 degrees to 60 degrees so check the weather before booking.
On top of the no AC reality there was also a forest fire somewhere and that smoke smell was everywhere in Fairbanks, including our room. So now sleeping was a bit uncomfortable with the windows open.
**Room amenities: There is a Microwave, Keurig Coffee Maker and Mini Refrigerator that all appear to be Very Nice. There is also a large closet and your own vehicle parking spot. WiFi is very STRONG w/Good connection speeds. Room comes with a large TV but because of WiFi and the cellphone we didn't use it. Bathroom came with towels, tolid paper rolls, sink hand soap and shower shampoo including a body wash, thank you👍. Nice adjustable Hot and Cold water with very good water pressure. Something majority of expensive hotels do not offer with their save water and pressure shower heads.
If it was the month of June instead of July, the Fall or even Winter then like a "NO BRAINER" this place would be a nice stay for any couple including a child. I didn't see anything for pet accommodations which for me was a *Plus. Pets and people should be separate especially when sharing the same bed right? Don't say this to pet owners they will tell you your cruel🤣.
Enter your room with a prior programmed 4 digit pass code that you set up with reservations upon booking for both the front door of the building and your room door. *No prior key pick up or front desk to check in. Just a good memory of your 4 numbers. Remember to turn the inside bolt lock on the front door after entering the main hallway of the building and the same with your apartment front door to lock the doors.
*Places to eat There is a Costco Wholesale, Savers supermarket where one could bring groceries back to The Adamina and store in the mini refrigerator and other restaurants to eat. At Savers expect a sticker shock. The prices are High.
**Conclusions: Other than the uncomfortable forest fire smoke that filled the air which has nothing to do with this establishment. I do think this place could actually be a good option for someone looking for comfort, privacy, and more bang for the buck which was under $200 a night stay next to the other more EXPENSIVE HOTELS out here. Book early this place is always full. And if you get a reservation Thank the Guru for setting you straight.
The Review...
Read moreI stayed a week here and loved every minute of it.
Prior to check-in I received an automated message with how to access my room. Everything worked great and once I got to my room I was impressed by how clean it was. Everything was spotless. I didn't have one of the larger suites, but even then I still had a lot of amenities to include a remote controlled Dyson floor fan (in addition to the ceiling fan), a love seat, microwave, refrigerator, and dual coffee maker (traditional drip with additional K-cup option). One to two people could easily be comfortable in this smaller suite for an extended time.
The room decor was charming, bed was comfortable, and towels were of better quality than some 4-star hotels I've stayed at. Each side of this duplex has a dedicated porch with a chair and table that were great for sitting and enjoying a morning coffee. The entire property is kept clean and it's obvious the owners take great pride in The Adamina, from the signs posted to remove shoes when entering the main doors, to the fact that they're continuously making improvements. During my stay I was contacted by the property owner and informed that they were having new thermostats installed in all rooms and suites, and that a member of the property's housekeeping crew would be accompanying the HVAC tech for oversight and guest reassurance.
The property is close to the airport (about 13 minutes away) and close to plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, bars, etc. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and I never felt unsafe at any point during the day.
Considering what it costs to stay at local hotels like the Best Western, I think it'd be crazy of me to not stay at The Adamina the next time I'm...
Read moreHad the Denali suite for half our honeymoon & wish we'd been in it the whole week. It is the perfect honeymoon suite. You won't get a better room at Chena resort or probably anywhere else in/around Fairbanks, I'd imagine, certainly not for the great price of this suite that's more like a nice apt than a hotel room. Also, the way they do things is just smart with codes instead of keys. We were briefly in another room which was also nice & worth the lower price, but the Denali suite is pretty much perfect at a great price. I only wish these same folks rented places everywhere I travel because I'd never stay w/ anyone else after this experience. I'm not even someone who typically leaves reviews of anything, good or bad, service, place, or product, but my wife & I were so blown away by how perfect this room was/is, & at such an incredible price, that I had to leave a review to tip my cap to Dan & Solo for putting together such an amazing suite & hopefully guide some future traveling couples to what they'll call the best place...
