M & G Burgers & Beverages — Restaurant in Fairfax

Ate here when I was nearby for lunch time working cable installation, and it was always kinda hit or miss. I only ever got the burgers, but strangely found out one day that the plain hamburger is better than the bacon cheeseburger or plain cheeseburger. I have no idea why, and it's false everywhere else, but strangely the case here. Fries are so so, usually too soft for me.

Everyone complaining about wait times I guess doesn't have a working pair of eyeballs that can see there's usually one guy working the register/shakes/etc, and one guy in the kitchen that's about the size of a closet. Almost always a few people ahead of me when I go. Wait times aren't ridiculous, but they can take 15 minutes which is a long time if you only have 30 for lunch. Dining inside is tiny too, but there's a small outdoor area too. Parking lot is super tiny, and it's Fairfax, so good luck with parking.

Hispanic guy who is always there is cool enough, even took my order and got it started when I realized this place was cash only (oh no no no no, cmon get with the times. That's ridiculous) and had to run to the bank down the street to get some cash. Nice guy but always seemed overworked.

Food is ok, a little too expensive, but still better than any McDonald's or...

M&Gs has been and always shall be one of my favorite places for a burger in all of the world. They don't try to do anything fancy or haute or high end hoity toity. Its simple, executed perfectly, with fresh, local, incredible ingredients. They make a true American hamburger experience flawlessly every time. You may think that 10 bucks for a burger, fries, and drink combo may be a bit pricey but let me tell you M&Gs does it in such a way that its a steal at twice the price. Their staff is super friendly, they're happy to see their regulars, and they help make this place the local institution it is.

If red meat isn't your thing they have a WIDE variety of other selections such as garden burgers, grilled chicken, fish, and hot dogs/corn dogs. It's good, simple, comforting American fast food executed to absolute perfection by a staff who loves their jobs, loves their food, and loves...

I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place because I’ve been eating here for more than 20 years and I’ve NEVER been disappointed. Excellent veggie burger (from when I was vegetarian) My usual order as an omnivore is the double cheese burger with the grilled onions and a small fries. Small fries becuase they are so good I eat them all regardless of satiety status then I feel sick. 😂

One of my fave items is the “Hippiecrit” burger that is a veggie burger with bacon. 😂😂😂

Dunno who wrote the bad review about the fried but there are most certainly NOT bland and they are super crispy and light. Ask for extra special sauce to dip them in. Their special sauce is 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
