Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in Fairfield

Once upon a time, about 6 years ago the manager kicked me out for adding too much cream to my daily coffee. As a regular who spent $200 a month here on myself, I was shocked. The staff and management seem different today, but if they still have the same manager then shame on them and they still deserve a 1 star. However, the reason I rate this low isn't because of an old experience it's because of the quality. Peets used to be the king of cafes. The quality of their drinks was nearly equivalent to what you could make at home with an expensive setup. However, today Peets cannot make a good espresso, and it's really hard to put my finger on why. Every drink I get has an unmistakable flavor of cardboard like they soaked my drink in a cardboard box before pouring it. Is it the beans? I don't use stir sticks, so it's not that. It's really disappointing because the smell and crema look so good, but that flavor. It's not just this Peets, it's every Peets. Also, if you get an iced espresso drink then beware. This place cannot make good...

I've been a loyal Peetnik for decades, and I am disappointed to write this review. I have always enjoyed Peet's brisk black iced tea, and usually order it in Vacaville. However, I put in a mobile order at the Peet's in Fairfield for two iced teas; one with ice, and one without. I love having a second tea later in the day, and like my tea strong. The picture I've attached is what I received; they filled it about 60% full. Ridiculous! This is why I dislike being asked to tip in advance. Tips are supposed to be given to show appreciation for excellent service. I've always been given a full cup at any other location when I order no ice, and at a price of $4.30, I expect a full cup. Customer service is phenomenal. The only thing I have ever ordered is the Havana cappuccino and I have yet to regret it. Creamy, just the right amount of sweet, and beautifully roasted and brewed espresso, all come together for an exceptional beverage either hot or iced.

I've tried several more of the drinks here and it's still the best cup of coffee in town served with a side of exceptional service.

Edit: I had their black tie cold brew since I reviewed previously. If you like your coffee cold, I would highly recommend it.
