Poke is no Joke! When craving something delicious, satisfying, flavorful and healthy nothing is more fulfilling than Hawaiian Poke. It's all to often when I'm hungry I crave burgers, fries, fried chicken , pizza etc. Now that I've discovered poke (which has been around for centuries) I no longer do i have to put my body through gastronomical abuse! Poke is the best choice for living a healthy life style. Granted there is a lot of rice, and quinoa involved but common sense tells me "Tennis ball size" portions are all I need to put hunger at ease. A bowl of poke can be eaten in its entirety or portioned out for a day or two. No matter how you chow down it's really great stuff!! There are some people that are born leaders. Thomas who owns 4 Pokemoto restaurants has real talent for finding the right people to serve his customers. I have been to the Fairfield location On the Post Road quite a number of times since my first visit and not only have I been given more than my money's worth but I've never met a happier and much enthusiastic crew than the employees at this Pokemoto. Isabel introduced me to some new items which were quite awesome. Kenna, Maddy, Donald followed up making sure I was well taken care of. Great people, Great food at a Great price is now just a few blocks away from my doorstep. I'm not giving up burgers and fries and neither should you but if you haven't tried Pokemoto at 1512 Post Rd. Ffld you cannot say I didn't tell you. Enjoy! Oops I almost...
Read moreFinally a decent poke bowl in Fairfield. More than decent, in fact it was excellent. Stopped by for lunch on Saturday Jul 14. The pleasant staff member said they'd only been open a few days. Had their standard Hawaiian bowl with white sushi rice, and a few custom extra toppings. All toppings are free, no upcharge, except for avocado. The sushi rice is kept warm, and was nicely seasoned. This is so often the downfall of many mediocre poke bowls. The warmth of the rice elevates the flavors of everything else in the bowl. I had the spicy mayo dressing on the tuna, but they have a wide assortment of others, including soy, chili garlic, ponzu, gojuchang, wasabi, miso, etc. Bottles of soy, sesame oil, and chili oil are also available for self serve. It's in the old Pinkberry space, so it's a little cramped. Still, highly...
Read moreInconsistent. We get at least once per week. I'd say 4 out of 5 visits we are pleased. However, 20% of the time the portion sizes are laughably small. What makes it even more irritating is when you watch another server right next to your server giving twice the amount of fish as you just got. Icing on the cake is when they are out of stuff at 7pm yet when you ask for a little more meat to make up they say they are not allowed. BTW, we usually tip each visit but I will no longer be tipping when I get a tiny amount of food. Right now we are cooking additional food so we don't go to sleep hungry, after eating our Pokemoto order. PS. They also raised prices, so the value is just not there. Perhaps time to consider getting food...
