Shiki Hana — Restaurant in Fairfield

If you are new to the area or are just visiting DO NOT hesitate to go to this place. My family and I always go here all the time and every single time the service is outstanding, the food is absolutely delicious. It's a place where you can either dress up or down without feeling the pressure of looking presentable. The atmosphere is comfortable and calm which makes dining here also a pleasurable experience. I seriously cannot get enough of their sushi it is SO GOOD! If you are looking to go here on the weekends or on Friday I recommend making a reservation just because this place gets super busy during those times. I am really picky about my sushi and this amazing restaurant has the perfection down to exact proportions. Please don't go anywhere else besides this place as you will be disappointed with the remaining of Fairfield's sushi restaurants. The prices are also stellar as well. For two rolls it's about $12 or so which isn't bad comparing that to other places. People bring their kids here all the time so if you're looking to do that, do not hesitate. SHOCKED. Have on numerous occasions called in take out. This one time I did not get what I asked for. I called to advise the order was wrong and wanted a refund for the amount for the item that was wrong. My husband could not eat fish we asked for steak teriyaki. We do not live close by and since it was a mistake on their part I expect a refund for $18 or asked for their delivery person to drop off the correct meal and take back the wrong meal. The woman insisted she did not make a mistake I ordered what she gave me. I think I know what I ordered.After holding she comes back with a credit for $8 her reasoning we can eat the rest of the food not the fish. I used to take out from here almost weekly for their sushi roll lunch combo as it was my favorite in Fairfield hands down and had the best price. I recently noticed some differences and confirmed at the restaurant that management changed. While I understand price changes in this economy, I was hoping that quality wouldn’t change but it seems it has. The shrimp tempura used to have cucumber and be larger. The miso soup also used to be higher quality and the soy sauce used to be in a container instead of packets. They also now add tempura crunch to their spicy tuna and spicy salmon which is often a sign of skimping on the amount of fish and makes it less authentic.
