Me and my wife did an overnight at the Circle Hotel Fairfield while attending a local event. The service people at the front desk were very nice and helpful, and there was someone staffing it overnight. They were also training new staff while we were there, but there was always someone experienced there to ensure good service. We had a dual-queen sized room as it was what fit our budget with the Trip.com discounts. We stayed in building 2 which is a very short walk from the main building. The room was spacious, basic but nicely enough decorated, and nicely clean-enough, though the toilet seat had been through some things and maintenance should have replaced it, but it wasn't broken. I let the front desk know and they said they'd have it addressed. The room had basic amenities (2 free bottles of water was nice), coffee maker, Ironing board iiron, soap, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, tissue box, etc. A closet with a few hangers It could have used more hangers and it would have been nice to have a suitcase stand. No dresser/drawers, and no phone. There was a serviceable mini-fridge.We didn't use the TV so I can't comment on it.There wasn't a book with local businesses listed or deals for them, etc.The front desk area has a little shop you can buy overpriced neccesities and drinks. There's a pool out back that looks nice. There's also a nice lounge area inside and chairs/tables to relax outside out back. There was a decent breakfast layout, but it's mostly a variety of bread stuffs/carbs - not diabetic or keto friendly. They did have hard boiled eggs, fruit, and hot cereal packets so there are meager non-carb options. There was also cereals, sugar-sweetend yogurts, and a variety of drinks including coffee and juices. The make-it-yourself waffles were a nice touch. I would have liked bacon or sausage, but overall for the room rate it was a nice breakfast layout. We'd ordered food at night from Seamless and got a delivery to our room door with no problem. Note: Restaurants close early in the area, but there's a nearby 24hr McDonalds that's drive-through and order-only after 10pm.There's also a decent diner open right next to the hotel during the day. And shopping center across the road.If you don't feel like driving, the local main street bus stops right in front of the hotel on either side of the street going in both directions. Great if you're checking out the local brewery, which also has good food and was an A+ experience.Just make sure you have quarters for the bus. $1.75 per person gives you a 2-hour "unlimited" pass to use the local busses in either direction.Overall, we liked our stay and would stay again in the future if the price is right. Compared to our experiences with similar hotels, under $140 was just right for our room as they had minimal business and it was nicely quiet. If they were busier, I'd expect $100 to $120 deal, and very busy, maybe less..If I can think of anything else I'll update my review. I...
Read moreMy recent stay at Circle Hotel Fairfield was a pleasant surprise, offering a blend of comfortable lodging, convenience, and lovely surroundings.
Room Comfort and Style: The rooms at Circle Hotel Fairfield strike a balance between the cozy familiarity of a travel lodge and the luxury of a 3.5-star accommodation. It's evident that the rooms have been thoughtfully updated to provide a modern and comfortable stay.
Location: The hotel's central location in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a definite advantage. It's not only close to the Fairfield Metro North Station but also conveniently located just a 10-minute walk away. For travelers by car, it's a quick two-minute drive from the Interstate 95 North, making it easily accessible for those on the move.
Room Features: One feature I appreciated was the ability to open the windows safely, allowing fresh air and natural light to flow into the room. However, the use of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower might raise some concerns, although they should be perfectly fine for most friendly visitors.
Scenic Views: The hotel's location also provides beautiful country views at the back, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere that's a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Welcoming Common Area: The large sitting area near the front desk can comfortably accommodate a sizable group of guests. It adds a welcoming touch to the hotel and is a great place to relax or gather with fellow travelers.
Breakfast and Dining: While I didn't get to experience it firsthand, the fact that the hotel serves breakfast is a nice touch. It's the perfect way to start your day before exploring the nearby restaurants and attractions. With numerous dining options in the area and beaches just a short drive away, there's no shortage of culinary and leisure adventures to embark on.
In summary, Circle Hotel Fairfield offers a well-rounded and comfortable stay in the heart of Fairfield, Connecticut. Its blend of convenience, updated accommodations, and lovely surroundings make it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. Whether you're catching a train from the nearby station or exploring the local attractions, this hotel provides a welcoming and enjoyable base...
Read moreVery cute and nice…hotel? Motel? It’s sorta both. Is it worth $400 a night? No. Did it check (almost) all my boxes and make life very pleasant? Most certainly.
Staff is very pleasant and accommodating! Rooms were clean and mostly functional Location is solid (great for getting to Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater) Pool is very nice! 🏊♀️ Close to the beach!! 12 minute walk through a nice neighborhood down a few blocks of nice houses. There are sidewalks that lead you there. Breakfast was simple but good! Actual-GOOD hard boiled eggs, waffles, bagels, breads, muffins, cereal, coffee, orange juice. 7-10 on weekends. 6:30-9:30 on weekdays I think.
Tangent/complaint below:
Our only real issue was that Room 22’s TV speakers blew out within 20 minutes of use—got extremely distorted and sounded scary. The staff couldn’t really do anything to remedy this, but were apologetic and offered to change our room to a different type (we declined since we were settled / the room type wasn’t what we wanted).
We were NOT offered any discount for this inconvenience, but I was told at checkout to contact a manager in a few days 🤷🏻♂️
Wound up being the only real bummer since I’d been saying to my wife “the hotel actually has just a normal Roku and isn’t hard locked to one app, so if you play your cards right, there might be a little Summer I Turned Pretty wind down before bed time.” I did end up being a man of my word, and synced the Prime playback on the TV to my phone by playing an episode on both devices at the same time—but that was crazy to get going and with suboptimal albeit tolerable results. And before you ask, no you can’t cast to the TV because the Roku is on a different WiFi than the guest WiFi.
Maybe this will be the dawn of a TV update era here, because the TV’s are somewhat old and pretty poor quality, also bordering on hilariously (not quite hilarious, but certainly notably) small on an otherwise HUGE and empty wall.
However, the TV’s don’t have motion-smoothing auto-enabled (probably because the models themselves predate the poison—I made “feature.”), so that was nice at...
