Jake's Diner — Restaurant in Fairhaven

My first time coming here with my dad a couple weeks ago and he was excited to bring me here bc it's cute and usually the food is good. I don't know if the kitchen was just having a bad day or if they have an inexperienced cook or something but we waited quite a while for our food to be out...when it wasn't all that busy which wouldn't be a deal if the food was good. My dads food was a bit burnt. The bacon in my sandwich was rubbery and my French toast had way too much egg mixture on it that the egg was legit seeping on the sides and just tasted off. The waitress brought us our bill, and we put our card down for it. We took it as is and didn't complain. Kinda just wanted to get out of there. She took our card and was gone for a few minutes before she came back and explained that she forgot to add an order of French toast to the bill..... so the bill was changing. My dad was sketched out about that. Idk if you make a mistake and forget to charge someone for a $2 ish item.. maybe let it slide??? I don't know. If you are interested in eating true local faire with true locals, this is the place to stop. You'll eat good food served by hard working waitresses delivering food made by chefs who knows what the local food should taste like. Simple, good food with portions that won't leave you hungry. This place is PHENOMENAL!! A true hidden gem!.
