Mac's Soda Bar — Restaurant in Fairhaven

This is likely my second review of Mac’s Soda Bar. I haven’t been here for a couple of years but I’ll tell you this place has really gone down hill.

We shared a Scallop and Clam dinner and each got a stuffed quahog. The quahogs were huge, but lacking any clams. Really it just tasted like stuffing mix with clam juice. A real letdown because this place used to have awesome quahogs. Honestly, the restaurant was empty except for one other couple. Our food was overcooked and tasteless. The coleslaw wasn’t fresh, and the tartar sauce looked like it had been sitting around for a long time. If you tried to put your fork into a fried scallop, the coating would all fall off. The food was delicious and the prices are great!! I got loaded steak tips onion rings FYI the onion rings are so delicious and the steak tips were cooked to perfection 😊😊😱😱!! It only cost me 🤑 $25🤑 and mind you it wasn't just me eating I was with a good friend of mine. And we both got loaded steak tips and we each got a soda!! Small old-fashioned diner place with tremendous and reasonably priced food. Had the Saturday scallops 5 ways special for $11.95. Your choice of fried, baked, seared Asian chili(my choice), sauteed in cream mushroom sauce(called St. Jason style)(dad's choice), or seared with balsamic glaze. Get 10 scallops on plate(about 1/2lb). Cooked perfectly, tender, and gourmet like presentation. Have plenty more things on menu that are good deals and want to try.
