This was our first time ordering from China Chef. We ordered online, which was easy, so I didn't mind the $0.99 service fee. Plus, even though you order online, you can still pay when you get there. We ordered the Family Dinner for 5, as we're a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. We also ordered a side of white rice because the meal comes fried rice and our kids like white rice. First thing that stood out is their COVID protocol. They are completely enclosed in the kitchen/cash register area. You speak through a microphone. Everything is surrounded by plexiglass or plywood. The credit card reader is only accessible through a small hole, just big enough for your card. They also have hand sanitizer next to the pens. The second thing that stood out is that they use a wok! I've been so disappointed in other Chinese restaurants when I see that they do not cook on a wok. You can certainly taste the difference. I was given my bags and was surprised, pleasantly, by the weight of the bag! Once we got home, which was the longest 10 minute drive, we took everything out to see what actually came with the Family Dinner for 5. Everything was exactly as ordered and there was SO MUCH FOOD! We all ate until we were stuffed and we still have enough for everyone to have lunch tomorrow. Everything was uniquely different in taste, tender, and hot (temperature-wise) even after a drive home. The soups were tasty and not at all watered down. The egg rolls were crunchy. The veggies in the chicken and beef were fresh. I'm so excited to have finally tried China Chef! We'll be...

The second we walked in the door, I remembered why it had been so long...we were immediately greeted with the smell of butt...it literally smells like a toilet...we went up to order and instead of a hello or what can I get you, she looks at us and just says yes? We place our order and sit down to wait and watch as she greets every single person that came in for their takeout...they must all be regulars because she was very friendly with them. Our food was delivered in takeout containers instead of on a plate and we were given these teeny tiny forks and teeny tiny napkins...my husband liked his order but my garlic chicken was grisly and it is still messing with me hours later...the aftertaste was so bad, I immediately chewed gum when I was done and brushed my teeth when I got home. Also, the place was just filthy and...

I think, like many of the other restaurants that are family owned in our country, they took a hit from the misappropriation of power during Covid.
The inside still had all the tables stacked up, and the counter had been turned into an anti-zombie barrier. I've played COD Black Ops, so I'm an expert on this. The barrier would have fallen faster than a few boards over a ww2 trence entrance in Morasko, Poland, during the infamous Nacht der Untoten.
Regardless, the chicken lo mein was Pack-a-Punched already an entire round above average and was ready to rally the squad with some pick up.
Ohh the egg rolls were fresh too, and...
