I liked Warehouse. Being from DC, it reminded me of a place from home especially the design. Sadly, I just walked out due to service.
Here are the facts. I ordered a farmers market bowl, no cheese, side of sausage and a latte with coconut milk. Oh and the Green drink. This is usually my order.
The lady who took my order, lovely but apologized for forgetting the sausage which she then ( so I thought added) because she repeated my order a second time. When my meal came no sausage so I asked two different people about the sausage. Neither of these ladies returned. I went to the register and explained I ordered sausage and was plainly told it wasn't on my ticket. Again, neither lady from above I asked informed me of this information. And just like that I was ceremoniously dismissed.
Here's the thing I would of paid for the sausage but I was not offered the option. The woman who spoke to me was dismissive and rude. At that point, I decided to leave. The food lost its taste. On the way out, the woman who took my order, I asked her " did I order sausage?" and she affirmed that I did, that I said it a second time when we repeated my order and then she apologized, she took responsibility. More of her is needed at Warehouse.
I have found many places to have what I would come to learn is Southern Hospitality since moving here, I'm sad to let the Warehouse off my list. I give it 2 stars because when I look at my text receipts I can see it was a staple for me to grab breakfast, read and relax. For having that space I'm grateful. For not being treated as a loyal customer, I'm sorely disappointed.
And to think all I wanted was courtesy and a side of sausage that I would of paid for. Being courageous goes a long way and to the lady who apologized, thank you for a) smiling b) believing me and c) getting it right...
Read moreThe place was packed last Sunday morning with the line going out the door. The wonderful smell of their coffee greeted us as we got close. The line moved very quickly, I barely had time to look at all of their baked goods before it was our turn to order. (Note: Day-old baked goods, if any, are only $1). Gran's Gravy Biscuit was a hit with my hubby who was surprised how good their cheddar biscuit taste with country gravy. He really enjoyed his first taste of their Dark Roast and will be back for more. My in laws ordered the Squeelin' Pig Biscuits and each biscuit was stacked so high you can barely open your mouth to take a bite hahaha! They both really enjoyed their choice.
I went GF and ordered the Creekside Breakfast bowl with side of roasted beet salad. YUMMY does not do it justice! It was a perfect Fish Camp type breakfast of bacon collards, blackened snapper, cheese grits and chutney. That was the best breakfast I've had since moving to Fairhope. Those, who think fish is not for breakfast, are gonna just keep missing out in life....

Read moreExcellent place, highly recommended. It's a 5 star about 50% of the time.
My only complaint is that about 50% of the time the coffee is really weak. Well, and that they run out of donuts too early. "Donuts" is actually in their name and it took me about 5 visits before I came in early enough to get a donut. Why not just make more? It's a donut shop.
I don't like the way the person checking you out also turns around and makes your coffee. Not everyone has the ability to make great espresso and most shops have one or two people that really know what they are doing and they run the espresso machine. But here, it looks like everyone makes it, so you are sort of rolling the dice in regards to who is going to make it and what kind of quality you are going to get. I get that they use an automatic espresso machine, but packing the grounds is a bit of an artform and makes a huge difference.
But all in all the place is a great place and my family loves to visit. But for me, the coffe is probably #3 in the area when someone making it knows what...
