This is a review of the newly released Thanksgiving sandwich

I recently visited Firehouse Subs with high hopes of enjoying their Thanksgiving sandwich, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. I feel compelled to share my disappointment so that others are aware of what to expect.

First and foremost, the sandwich lacked flavor. The ingredients seemed bland and uninspiring, failing to capture the essence of a delicious Thanksgiving meal. The turkey had a dull taste, and the overall combination of flavors felt underwhelming. It was far from the mouthwatering experience I had anticipated.

Moreover, the ratio of mayonnaise to meat was completely imbalanced. I was shocked to find that there was an excessive amount of mayonnaise, overshadowing the already lackluster taste of the turkey. It felt like I was biting into a mayonnaise sandwich with a hint of Thanksgiving, rather than a well-crafted Thanksgiving sandwich. This imbalance made the sandwich heavy and unpleasant to eat.

Given my disappointing experience, I strongly believe that Firehouse Subs should remove this particular Thanksgiving sandwich from their menu for tweaking and improvement. The current version simply does not live up to the expectations one would have for a holiday-inspired sandwich.

So this really could have been a negative review. My wife and I decided to try FHS for the first time this afternoon. We ordered online and had a couple of requests for a change of toppings to not be on our sandwiches. I got to the store and we waited for our order, and we left. Once we got home we noticed that neither of the requests were honored and both sandwiches had the items on them. Not a great way to leave a good 1st impression. So I called to find out what happened. The first person I talked to apologized and offer to remake them for us, I voiced my complaint that I had already drove all the way there and back, the worker explained that they don’t have their own delivery service but I was asked to hold for a sec and I was passed on to the manager where I was again apologized too and was told that the online ordering is not sending special requests to the store so they aren’t getting them. I was offered a remake of our sandwiches and a refund which I happily agreed too. I drove back to the store, and my meal was remade, I received a refund and a drink for my wait. The workers went above and beyond to make sure we were happy for something that went wrong that is out of their control. First, the food is great. Best subs, imo. But the phone and online service is really bad. 1) if you order by phone, don't try standing in the 'phone order' line... They won't acknowledge you. You need to stand in the long ordering line, even though you already ordered your food, just need to pay, and your food is sitting right behind them. Oh, and there is a register with a sign right above it that says 'Phone Orders'. 2) if you order online for their Rapid To Go, your order will not be the same priority as someone who orders in person. If the time to pick up the food is set to 2pm, add an extra 10-15 min. I ordered online and arrived 5 minutes after my slotted time (20 minutes after ordering). It wasn't ready. No big deal. But four people walked in after me (remember, 20 minutes after I placed my order online). They ordered and received their food before me. So about 30 minutes AFTER I ordered online, they finished. The guy told me he didn't control the priority of the orders. So, the food is really good, especially the Rueben!
