When we walked in I was surprised at how run down and unclean the place looked. The staff was not friendly what so ever, when taking our order the guy taking it mumbled and was short answering like he was annoyed. Ordered a burger meal and two shakes. It's a seat yourself, we waited for a table to open and sat down, none of the tables were being wiped off between customers. As we're waiting I'm watching them make "milkshakes" only to see them put ice cream in the blender and then add about the same in water to the blender and this is a water shake not a milkshake...yes it tasted like they added water, the ice cream quality wasn't great to begin with and then they added water to make it worse. No visible list of mix ins either. The food was meh nothing to write home about and with it being not clean, and the only friendly staff member we found was the girl making shakes who was so overwhelmed on what looked like her first week, she was having a hard time getting the shakes together and trying to manage the ingredients they didn't have and trying to run around to every table who ordered a shake and figure out how to replace the missing ingredients also while she was suppose to be maintaining the front window. When someone came to the front window to order she was too overwhelmed and the other staff told her to tell them to come inside and order. So I'm confused what that front ordering window is for. We watched people come in and stand in line watch the chaos and leave without ordering. We watched two ladies that ordered shakes before we got there still sitting there after we got our food and had to go ask for their shakes. All in all this place is a disaster, and I wouldn't waste my money there again. And I hope that lovely girl...
Read moreThe $12 bacon blue cheese burger that I ordered could put many a $26 burger to shame. The only thing is, I would not call this a smash burger. It was a cheeseburger smashed kinda thin, but there was none of the caramelized flavor that makes smash burgers the dream that they are. The flavor of the patty tasted exactly like it had been cooked by my dad, who was a chef in an American steakhouse when he was young. So, classic American flavor, in my book, but not a smashburger. The blue cheese was amazing-- I never knew till I moved here that Oregon has way better cheese than CA. This was probably just some cheap blue cheese but it was almost as good as my favorite blue cheese from the bay area in CA. The brioche was very soft and fresh and was almost definitely a Franz bun. The produce was fresh but sliced very thin. The bacon could not have been cooked better. Overall a great value for $12 and I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a good hamburger (but not necessarily if you're set on a smash burger). Service was amazing and the ambiance is a food truck court with every kind of cuisine imaginable, can't do much...
Read moreI ended up ordering to go. I got home, ate that burger and those fries and mmm mm MMMM that burger was so good it felt like a crime to eat it. The burger was committing a crime BEING that good. Shame on Sammy, those burgers are made so damm well that you are literally FORCED to return at some point in the future and that's how addicts are born, kids. Service felt a little sluggish. I know these burgers don't take 5 seconds but the guy was distracted with a chit-chat conversation he was having with some passerby and because of that, I felt like my burgers took a bit longer. It was a good 15 minutes at least. I respect needing the time to cook it correctly but I'm confident I could've cooked those dang burgers and had them ready to serve by half the time that it took him to do the exact same thing. Efficiency, organization, structure, and good habits. The key to success is yours, don't get stuck flipping burgers for the rest of your life kid. You've got far more potential than that. Don't get reeled back in when you want to leave and they offer you a manager position and a .75 cent raise. Leave and find...
