Horrible the first time, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. As they had just opened that week, or the week before. Well now it's a few weeks later, and I wanted to give them another chance. HUGE mistake. HUGE!!!
After reading 3 menus. The last one being a friggin novel that took me longer to read then it did for me to drive there. I was, as usual at places with long menus, more confused then ever. And getting that bad feeling I always do when I see a big menu. I get this, because I realize they can't possibly do everything well. I'd rather a small menu of good food. Then a big menu of mediocre food.
Well in the end. I wished for mediocre. I went with the special they had. Grand Slam breakfast thingy for $5.99. Got a burnt pancake hidden under an under done one. 2 pieces of sausage. Only 1 cooked though all the way. 2 pieces of bacon that were passable. 2 over medium eggs drowning in oil. And last but not least. Raw hash browns. I mean a tinge of color, and the rest completely white. I mean still crunchy raw. Heartburn inducing it was. All of it combined. Yet I'm sure any one of them would have done the same on it's own.
Told the waitress it was horrible when she asked. She asked me why I didn't say something, because she could have fixed it. Gee I don't know? Maybe because crappy food is better then food with spit in it? And she never offered to do anything for me. But she didn't seem to have any problem asking me to pay for my meal early so she could go home, at all. I was too tired to argue. I usually do. But mainly to let them know, assuming I think they care. I don't think they care at all. They only had one cook on. That says it all. And the completely unprofessional way they spoke said even more. The waitress was discussing her tips with the cook (who was 10 feet away) at a loud enough volume for the whole place to hear. You just don't do that as a server.
Do yourselves a favor, and NEVER, EVER eat here. Seriously you will regret it. Sorry, but you will. I've only had to write a couple of reviews like this in my life. I pray I never have to again. I don't want to hurt anyone's livelihood, but there's a point where something has to be said. This is that point. I will seriously have to read an apology to their customers in the Fall River Herald, and see them completely change the management there before I would ever consider going there again. 7-11 food is much, much better. And you all know what that taste like. What an embarrassment of an establishment!!!
BTW the only reason they got the one lousy star, is because it's as low as you can go. Otherwise it...
Read moreIt's cold in there. I don't know who makes such decisions, or what their based, but the building has a high capacity HVAC system with a large register above every booth, and last night it was set on "Preserve". My dining partner and I found a booth in an around-the-corner, out of the way alcove and managed to finish the evening without contracting hypothermia. Our waitress was attentive and rather sweet, almost a little too much so, but how can you fault that... And the menu's Specials insert was entertaining, adorned with cherubs aloft, bacon raiment flowing off from their little loins, as they aimed their arrows at photos of omelets and breakfast melts. Our food came probably just within 50+ minutes. By that time some hot coffee and tea had been able to stave off the aforementioned hypothermia, though we'd also had time to negotiate the LGBTQ+ social dilemma and straighten out our personal relationships. That was a very long wait for a simple late-nite dinner order, especially if you've had some significant kitchen experience, so big minus points for the wait. My partner ordered the salmon. Now, here is a real test of what a kitchen is capable of: Temperature, timing for the dish and accompanying orders, and freshness of product are all plainly spotlit here, and if you're advertising it, well, you should nail it. They didn't. It was dry, overcooked and even hard to cut. The vegetable side looked like it was pulled off the side off a lunch shift plate. It was 11 pm. We didn't pay for that one. I ordered the "...Crazy Spicy Skillet". It was only marginally better, it didn't really come off as anything beyond a collection of different veggies and a couple meats warmed up and hit with some "special sauce". I ordered the extra eggs and some seven grain to toast along with, which were the best parts. I split some of my dish with my more unfortunate friend, and we took care of business. I objected to our very kind patron saint of waitresses about the salmon, and got it erased from memory. That was the redemption of our visit. Next time I go to a Denny's I'll stick with the...
Read moreThis is my second time being there. The establishment is still clean, polite workers, the food is affordable and big portions. Our waitress was very helpful with making the decision making easier. I had the veggie omlet, hashbrowns, and an endless cup of coffee. My friend had the burboun burger with seasoned fries. I was curious to see how the bourbon burger tasted and it was fresh ground beef cooked to perfection, suave spread evenly over burger, saute'd nicely cut 1/4 in mushroom, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon and raw red onion which I don't care for but to each his own. Now that you know my friend had a great meal so did I. My omlet had saute'd zucchini, yellow squash, white onion, crimson mushrooms and spinache with provolone cheese, which tasted as good as the first time I had it. We sat in comfortable booths and drank coffee until we couldn't drink anymore. The restersaunt is open 24/7 and we went at a good time, not busy so I didn't feel the need to rush. I am glad Denny's is back and on the south side of the city across from the new mall and in front of Stop & Shop. As long as they are consistent then I will be a loyal customer. Thank you for bringing a childhood Resteraunt back 💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞 Our visit today was special so I ordered my gluten-free Breakfast & 5 cups of coffee ☕ 😋. My partner had a grand slam before going to the hospital for future surgery. The manager was very polite, generous, and kept my cup of coffee ☕ warm. He updated me on the gluten-free meals so I can go on a date there. The place was still clean, quite, and polite employees. UPDATE: 02/13/2023 for brunch yum 😋 I am sorry but I forgot to take photos of the meals, and forgot the managers name. Another employee recognized my partner while coming in as we were leaving. He talked to my spouse for a good 10 minutes. It made my spouse happy 😊 to see someone 40 yrs younger than him; remember him from his last job. We are satisfied to recommend this restaurant for the 3rd time. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 See you again alot sooner with gluten-free options....
