Papa Gino's — Restaurant in Fall River

Great place. I go here fairly often. For me anyway. I don't eat out all the time. I'm definitely not happy they changed their cheese. I used to love a cheese pizza here, but since they changed to another brand, or whatever. I won't eat cheese pizza anymore. I still enjoy their pizza, but now I get it with toppings. Hmmm, maybe that was there plan all along? Just kidding. I'm a big fan of their sausage topping actually. I don't know of any other pizza place around here that has a better sausage topping. I can't recommend that enough.

I like the salads here, in the summer especially. I got the BBQ chix tender salad last time. With ranch dressing. I asked them in my online order to put the tenders in the oven after they put the sauce on, because I love how that comes out. And they did it exactly how I wanted it. Huge props for that. Unfortunately the lettuce, and the tomatoes were pretty terrible. I could barely deal with the lettuce. It was like the outside of the head of romaine only. You've got to mix it up. I felt like I was chewing forever. And the tomatoes were not ripe. I could not eat them at all. But I was too tired to complain, and they were closing in a few minutes. So I didn't say anything. I'm sure if I did. They would have fixed no problem. But you shouldn't have to complain really. It's quite rare to have an issue here actually, but it happens at every restaurant. Not a big deal. Especially since the time before that. I got the Greek salad, and it was slammin! So this is not normal, but I've got to be honest here, and hopefully they'll take a hint if they read this.

Anyway. They seem to always have slices on hand. That's really nice. The hot dogs, and cheeseburgers there are awesome. I haven't got a grinder there in years. Didn't like their bread. But I know lots of people that love it. So that's a personal thing really. But years ago when it was different. I used to get them all the time, and they were really, really good. I miss the old sausage, and pepper sandwich they had. That would actually be good on the bread they have now too. They need to bring that back. They brought back the burgers. So maybe. Good place overall, and the crew here has always been super nice to me. Great people. Always go out of there way too make sure I'm happy. Definitely...

I ordered a special that was a large cheese pizza and chicken tenders and I also ordered a steak and cheese sub. My papa Gino’s experience this time was not great at all. It all started when I first ordered online because I recently received a text message a few days prior for 25% online order which would expire the next day so I decided to use it before it expired. Well the code that was in the text did not work but I decided to go ahead with the order anyway seeing as I just spent my time doing it online. My order was than was not only not ready at time it stated it would be it was oddly not hot. That was confusing to me. I also did not wait until I got home because I was so hungry I ate in the car as I drove home. I do only live 3 , 4 mins tops away. The steak and cheese was for my fiance he made a face when he took a bite and because this was his first time trying a sub at papa Gino’s and the fact that I urged him to get it because they are usually so good I myself had to try his sub. The face he made was not a pleasant one and after my bite I understood why. Even tho it was grossly submerged in mayo because obviously the worker did not know how to put a decent amount of Mayonnaise on a sub without overdoing it Surprisingly, it was as dry as something nasty and dry could be. I also added tomatoes and lettuce to the sub when I ordered it online. Both of which were not on the sub when we opened it. The customer service was horrible I had to holler for attention and than was spoken to only when told the total. Pizza is great better than Dominos. We ordered our pizza to go and received it very quickly. However I’m giving three stars because the customer service was atrocious. The first time I called in my order I could hear people in the background but nobody spoke to me. The second time I called I spoke to a very rude woman who I had to repeat my order to literally four times and then had to ask her when I should come pick it up. When I arrived to pick up my pizza the woman at the cash register asked if we were all set. I informed her that we called in our order and she walked away saying nothing. About five minutes later another employee asked if we were all set and the previous woman responded saying “I don’t know, they said they ordered a pizza or something”. Very rude and very unprofessional. The rude employee who I learned was named Tiana (after explicitly asking her name as she wasn’t wearing a name tag because she informed me that they fall in the pizza) proceeded to complain for ten minutes about her job and how much she hated it. While we were waiting another customer arrived to complain about their order as it had taken 40 minutes and they received no marinara sauce. Tiana told them that if wasn’t her problem and after they left she continued to complain about the customer. Overall it was a very uncomfortable experience and somebody needs to retrain the staff on customer service policies.
