When I first showed up to Jerry’s there was no music playing. I have two servers and a buss boy. Servers were Sydney the shift lead and Trista the new hire. Sydney had sat us down at a booth and ask for our drinks. We had a root beer, lemonade, and water with lemon. Trista was the server to take our order for food. We ordered a chicken fried steak dinner, bbq chicken wings with fries, and California cheese burger. As we got our order my daughter said the wings were too spicy for her. I requested that Trista get us a new batch without sauce. Trista went to the back and spoke to Sydney regarding the wings. I seen that now they were making eye contact with our table and then all were huddled up in a group trying to not make eye contact. As Sydney went to the back room where the chef was at, he then also started to stare at us intensely. Trista finally came back to our table and told us that because of other people our order would be longer than everyone else there. I said okay and proceeded to say I hope there isn’t an issue because of it. Trista explained to me that there wasn’t and due to other people coming in they only had one person making food in the back. I said ok just making sure. As we sat at our booth, I noticed they kept staring at us and when I would look up or look over at them they would all look away. It became clear there was a bigger issue than I thought. The food was plain and bland. The burger was ok but not very tasty. The fries I ordered had no salt or seasoning on it at all. When I asked for ranch it was extremely runny. My daughter stated her chicken fried steak had to taste to it and the mashed potatoes tasted as if they didn’t even bother to cook it and was like those fake potatoes you get out of a bag. During our 30 minute wait my other daughter started to pick off my other daughters plate, the servers, cook and buss boy were all now going to and from a little circle they had gathered behind the counter and kept staring but whenever I would look they avoided eye contact. Trista even went so far as to completely avoid our table at all costs! After 45 mins of waiting I finally asked for the order we got replaced to just be left out as we were going to leave. Once I stated this to sydney, she walked back behind the counter. Sydney came over and stated because of other people ordering they had to make our wings last and it would take 30 minutes to make. She then turned around and left and came back seconds later to say did you still want them they are done now. I said yes to go. As we packed our things and went to the counter to pay I stated to all the employees I didn’t mean for Trista to take what I said personally. Sydney explained she is a new employee and has been having a difficult time all day. She stated that people were mean to her all day and giving her bad reviews. I said again don’t take things personal because sometimes it’s the tone of voice a person may have that triggers people into thinking they are mean. Anywho, this is the last time and FIRST time I will ever go here. The food and service makes you just wanna scream! I paid $40 for everything and it was not even good. It was...
Read moreThere isn't much open late in a small town. We went to Jerry's tonight for dinner. They close at 9 and we walked in at 8:15 pm. The blonde waitress saw us and walked away. Another waitress greeted us a few minutes later and sat us. It's now 8:20. The waitress that seated us took our drinks. Brought the drinks. We looked at the menu and are now at the mercy of the blonde waitress that walked away from us. 8:30 nothing. 8:40 she comes over and places our silverware on the table and says she will be right back. She takes another table's order, fills the ranch container, puts in the other table's order, walks to another table seated after us and gets their drink order, gets the drinks and brings them back to the table. Walks to the counter and cleans it. Puts the dishes in the dish bin. Rolls some silverware. All the time we are looking at her waiting to take our order. We make eye contact several times and nothing. She finally walk over to the table seated just before our table and takes their order. Walk back to the counter talks to another customer at the counter. Fills the ketchup bottles. At this point, its 3 minutes to 9pm. My table of 5 finally gets up to go somewhere else and she comes over and says she was just getting ready to take our order. We asked how much we owed her for the drinks and she said no charge. We finally left at 9:02 with no food, no other place is open and we are now subject to fast food for dinner.
We frequent Jerry's occasionally, when its late and nothing else is open and this type of service seems to be consistent, which is a shame because the food is good when you can stand the lack of service.
To the Jerry's owners, if you are not involved in your business, you should be. If you rely on your managers to do the hiring, you should send family or friends in to give honest feedback on your restaurant service. Lack of service is a matter of success vs. Closing the doors. Especially in a pandemic. Please see this review and take action to...
Read moreI was a little taken aback by my service today. I haven’t been to Jerry’s in over 6 years and after a change of hands and remodel I thought I’d give it another try. Today was busy, to be expected being Mother’s Day, so my husband and I had placed a DoorDash order prior to open for a scheduled pick up. Our order arrived on time but over half the order was missing. Not being able to get ahold of the dasher I went in to see if something was supposed to be done at the restaurant. A simple apologetic I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do on my end you need to contact your dasher would have been fine, however I was immediately met with a disgruntled and defensive work who told me I need to contact DoorDash there’s nothing they can do, that she knows the order was packed because she put it all in the bags on the counter (never asking what my order was or what was even missing). I was treated more like a less than wanted patron because I had door dashed versus ordering in store. She threw her hands up when I’d explained I can’t get an hold of my dasher and I don’t know what to do, and said that’s not my problem you need to contact door dash. So, instead of leaving with help or even just a sympathetic I’m sorry I left confused, feeling like crap because my business apparently isn’t needed since I ordered through a third party, and missing half our family’s order. I did finally get ahold of our dasher who said when she picked up our order SHE was the one having to try and guess what orders belonged to who and what was in the bags in addition to having to write the dashees names on what was what because the Jerry’s staff didn’t do so to begin with. Not even a receipt stapled to the outside of anything. Not the Mother’s Day start my husband was hoping to give me breakfast-wise. We never eat out, but in the future for days we do decide to eat out this establishment will be permanently off our list and choice of...
