Disappointed in What Could Have Been a Great Visit
We stopped into Stockman's Café in Fallon hoping for a good, local breakfast — but unfortunately, the experience left us more disappointed than anything else. Our server, Tracy, was nowhere to be found for the first 15 minutes after we were seated. We eventually saw her outside the café before she finally came to take our order. Everyone has off days, so we tried to be patient and give her the benefit of the doubt.
When the food arrived, things didn’t improve. My bacon was so greasy it could’ve doubled as an oil slick — I genuinely don’t know what to compare it to. My wife ordered the cinnamon French toast, but what she got definitely wasn’t that. She chose not to send it back, not wanting to make a scene, even though it wasn’t what she ordered.
After we politely explained the issues and asked if the check could be adjusted, we were shocked to overhear Tracy walking around the corner and saying (loudly enough for us to hear), “You're going to love this,” followed by complaints about my wife. When I said, “Excuse me, we can hear you,” she just peeked around the corner and said, “Thank you,” without a hint of apology.
She brought us the check — unchanged — and that was that.
We didn’t go in expecting a five-star experience, just some friendly service and a decent breakfast. But whatever happened to basic courtesy and Nevada hospitality? I don’t like leaving negative reviews, and I’m not angry — just genuinely let down. I hope this was an off day,...
