Went here yesterday looking for a healthy option for a breakfast sandwich on the go (vs Dunkin Donuts). I googled searched and found Devour. Went to their website and was not able to order online ahead of time for pickup. I was close by so I went in. Walked in and and looked at chalk board menu. First item on the menu was a breakfast sandwich. It was 11:27am. Went to the counter (young lady at the counter seemed annoyed, not very friendly) and ordered the breakfast sandwich. She told me they're not actually serving breakfast at this time. I didn't see any signs posted on the door or at the counter as to times serving specific items. Now I was annoyed and told her I'd take the flat iron steak sandwich. She took my credit card and told me amount due was $17(and change). I thought "ok, that must be a huge sandwich" She told me it would be 10mins. I sat down, and when my sandwich was ready, my name was called. Tye sandwich was sitting on the counter wrapped in paper. It was small! I couldn't believe it. Talk about getting robbed. Tourist trap season in full effect. The young lady at the counter didn't ask me if I needed napkins or utensils. Didn't thank me for the business. Maybe because I didn't leave a tip? But why am I going to tip on a walk in counter order for pick up? Tipping is for full service/table service. If they need money for college or whatever, then they should ask for a raise. If owners are charging $17/sandwich they should be able to pay their staff more. So Disappointed it complete experience here. Will not go back. I will say the sandwich was tasty, but a $12 sandwich at most. $17 is...
Read moreCame to Devour for lunch with family after getting off the woods hole ferry and will DEFINITELY be coming back here. The Super Bowls had fantastic quinoa, hummus and arugula. We got them with the cumin vinaigrette instead of the balsamic, and it matched very well. The grilled chicken and falafel were both excellent too - flavorful and not too dry. My brother and his girlfriend got the Betty and Shady Lady sandwiches and loved both; they said the shady lady was perfect as is, and the Betty had very crispy homemade chicken but would have been better with the sriracha aioli (which was left out for some reason). There’s tapatio hot sauce at the tables, so they just added that instead. Also got the passion smoothie and mango mama smoothie; both were very refreshing, not too sweet, and not too thick to sip with a straw. We didn’t get coffee but the iced coffee prices are reasonable which is more than we could say about a lot of nearby spots. Nice outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating as well, but we didn’t feel comfortable eating inside because no one was wearing a mask. Overall a fantastic place, can’t wait...
Read moreMy friends and I went here for lunch because one of us has a gluten allergy and we read that most items could be made gluten free. My friend ordered a sandwich made gluten free and the person on the register confirmed what she ordered could be made gluten free. They called her name and she picked it up, pointed to the sandwich and confirmed it was gluten free. The person confirmed it was gf and she sat down to eat it. They then called her name again and said her order was ready. Confused, she went back up and asked why they had a second sandwich for her. He explained that the one she picked up was not her order, that they did not know what happened and then explained what she had been eating was not gluten free despite confirming before that it was gluten free. Luckily they gave her a full refund for her order, but it is irresponsible and dangerous for people's health to mix up gluten and non gluten items. Perhaps the staff needs some more training on the topic and to be more vigilant...
